Updated story in last hour in Germany. The guy put down 79,000 Euro on a “put”....that the stock of BVB (the team actually was a publicly traded stock)....would decrease. If he’d been correct and the cops hadn’t noticed this angle...the journalists say he would have made around 3.9 million Euro.
One of the key parts of the story is the IP address he used to wage the ‘put’. He checked into the same hotel as the team, and made a huge fuss to be on the front side of the building. Apparently he used the free wi-fi of the hotel, and it’s rumored that the IP for the ‘put’ goes to the hotel.
The whole neo-Nazi suggestion or the ISIS-connection? No....this was a Russian guy who had some background in money-laundering. Maybe he had some connection to the mafia in Germany as well.
As for jail-time? If he’s convicted of twenty-odd attempted murder charges, I think he’s looking at life in prison.
