Report: Obamacare Replacement Amendment Has Been Negotiated Between Pence and Freedom Caucus
Young Conservatives ^ | 04/20/2017 | Andrew Mark Miller

Posted on 04/20/2017 5:15:48 PM PDT by ForYourChildren

The GOP’s first shot at fixing Obamacare was an absolute dumpster fire. Paul Ryan never bothered to get conservatives involved and it cost him big time. He couldn’t even get his Obamacare lite bill to the floor for a vote. Now, it looks like Mike Pence got involved in the negotiations and an agreement was made.

"#BREAKING Sources tell me @mike_pence, @SpeakerRyan, @RepMarkMeadows and @RepTomMacArthur negotiated a possible amendment to the #AHCA."

— Brian Schwartz (@schwartzbFBN) April 20, 2017

"#BREAKING The possible amendment is titled the "MacArthur Amendment" and sources tell me it could bring up to 15-20 new @freedomcaucus votes"

— Brian Schwartz (@schwartzbFBN) April 20, 2017

"#BREAKING No vote has been scheduled. The big questions are: Will members of the Tuesday Group support this? Will @Heritage_Action support?"

— Brian Schwartz (@schwartzbFBN) April 20, 2017

"#BREAKING Here's the draft of the proposed "MacArthur Amendment." It allows coverage for preexisting conditions plus limited state waivers. pic.twitter.com/EN99ok9b5I"

Just make sure to KEEP the coverage which was granted for Obamacare, and most importantly keep the pre-existing conditions coverage.

Otherwise, change away.

Well, at least they aren’t trying to pass this off as repeal anymore.

It allows coverage for preexisting conditions

What the hell does that mean, let's get a little more accurate here.

Throwing the very sick and dying in the insurance pool with healthy young families will never allow premiums to drop.

You must cover the high risk/guaranteed high-claims patients with a completely separate funding method.

You cannot keep the limitless coverage and make any meaningful change. Go to Cuba if you love socialism so much.

Free the states, end all Federal mandates!

Congress has no Constitutional authority to control health insurance.

Nope.

Healthcare is RIDICULOUSLY expensive in America.

Moreso all the time. Nope, keep the coverage, that people need.

Fix the rest.

Between paying for large student loans and, statistically speaking, unneeded healthcare, where do the young get the money to establish their adulthood and build their lives?

Just repeal it and let the chips fly. A few regulations can fix anything found lacking.

People who have pre-existing conditions are parasites because they want affordable health insurance coverage...?

“Congress has no Constitutional authority to control health insurance.”

Nobody seems to understand this!

Does Congress have Constitutional authority to control alcohol? Well if they wanted to, the states would have to pass an amendment. Oh that’s right, they did, and thus began prohibition!

Nope, keep the coverage, that people need.

And who is going to pay for the labor of the physicians to provide the actual work of "covering"?

That reminds me, what exactly do you do for a living? I demand you do it for whatever amount the government/insurance industrial complex deems appropriately cheap, and to hell with the demand market rate.

Doesn’t sound like a repeal to me. They keep minimum essential federal benefits (OB for 70 year olds) and foist the pre-existings onto the marketplace.

Pre-existings are approx 1/3 of the population. That is huge and a major impact on premiums. Much better to have them in Medicare Part C, which is enrollment in managed care.

And no word on buying across state lines.

Not impressed.

I cant get health coverage because of sleep apnea. So apparently if an illegal runs me over I should go broke trying to pay for repairing the damage.
