Labelled a surging dark horse candidate in Frances presidential election, communist Jean-Luc Mélenchon has a new proposal that he hopes will maintain his momentum: a 100% tax on the rich. Mélenchon is running as the candidate of the Unbowed France political movement, in an alliance with the French Communist Party.
Mélenchon is a colorful character whose repertoire includes showing up at rallies via hologram, enabling him to appear at seven rallies at once.

I’d Love to Change the World
Ten Years After

Everywhere is freaks and hairies
Dykes and fairies, tell me where is sanity
Tax the rich, feed the poor
Till there are no rich no more?
I’d love to change the world
But I don’t know what to do
So I’ll leave it up to you
Population keeps on breeding
Nation bleeding, still more feeding economy
Life is funny, skies are sunny
Bees make honey, who needs money, Monopoly
I’d love to change the world
But I don’t know what to do
So I’ll leave it up to you
World pollution, there’s no solution
Institution, electrocution
Just black and white, rich or poor
Them and us, stop the war
I’d love to change the world
But I don’t know what to do
So I’ll leave it up to you
Why not 120% ?
Didn’t the French already do that once back in 1793?
No disincentive effects there. (Can this guy breathe without help cuz he sure can’t think.)
You know I really like about the French, nothing.
Its people like this who are making it harder and harder to do satire.
He’s using the old communist motto.....
“From each according to what he has to me according to what I want.”
I’ve a better idea: a 100% confiscation of all wealth from communists in exchange for a one room tenement with neither AC or heating and lifetime supply if Raman.
Not only did they shave off %100 of their income they got Shaved.
Simply murder them and confiscate their worldly goods.
Pretty much what the Paris Commune did during the height of the French Revolution.
That worked so well then.
And of course they saw to it that it was all perfectly legal.
Heck, why not 200%? Why not 300%?
Oh, let’s go for broke. Just take all of their income AND all of their assets.
Yeah, that’ll do it.
Vote for me. I steal stuff and promise to give it to you.
Just look at how well it is working out for the people of Venezuela.
It’s paradise!!!

With any luck they will actually vote this guy in and the reap the rewards they sowed.
can I quit working?
I think it is more like “What is mine is mine; what is yours, we share.”
Rich liberals love to have homes in France. I wonder what they think about this.
I’m all for communism, with consequences at the end of the failure.
Consequences being the hanging and stoning to death of the politicians who are willing to take the blame before their economic policies are incorporated into the economy.
So, would Melenchon be willing to trade his life for economic policies which are sure to kill the economy and thereby industries and jobs and the country?
I don’t say this very often, but this sort of person should be taken out and...
>>Didnt the French already do that once back in 1793?<<
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Yes, the rich took some haircuts back then — at the neck.
Let me tell you how it should be.
One for you, nineteen for me.
Cause I’m the Taxman.
