May we snigger?

Careful with that word. :)

For sure! “Snigger” has gone the way of “niggardly”.

You could try “snicker”, but you might then be sued for copyright infringement.

Another bennie would be that an analysis of the fallout will tell us where he got the uranium, and we can proceed from there with a cleanup...
______________________________________________________

How can you analyze purified uranium and tell from where it came? I know from my experience with gold refining, all gold has a “fingerprint” UNTIL it’s purified. Then it’s just gold, like all other gold. I’m assuming uranium is similar with unrefined as opposed to pure.

One nuke set of over any major city in the world would tank the worlds economy.

For some time.

Not something we need to happen even thou we well win the war.

When you see the “nationalist” celebration images from dictatorships, you see in the crowds something deeper than political indoctrination. You see you should always avoid mobs, being part of mobs, in every sense. Don’t ever lose your individuality to any movement. You’re likely to lose too much of your Liberty as well.

Thanx for that. Interesting.

From what I've read over the years, NK “wants” to level Seoul. They have positioned hundreds of artillery pieces and thousands of SS missiles to hit the SK capital.

If I were a resident of Seoul, I'd be pretty concerned.

That might be your definition of "victory". You are not Kim. His definition might be very different.

I don't think you or I have any real idea of how this psychopath thinks. Remember, he runs a slave state. He supposedly executes people using mortars, AA guns, and hungry dogs. Would you consider executing people like that? Probably not, because you are not a psychopath.

Kim would probably consider himself victorious if he survived an armed conflict with the US. Every US or South Korean or Japanese death thrown in is just a bonus for him. North Korean deaths are immaterial to him. Think of Hitler in the bunker.

He’s definitely an insane individual so no one can pretend that common sense will take over.

I wonder why we don’t have a missile defense system to protect South Korea at least - links are from 2014 and 2016 - the last one must be on the drawing board and would protect the US also....

From what I’ve been seeing, the problem here is not so much that he could at this time harm the US. But he for sure could create a blood bath disaster in Seoul. He has conventional armaments up the yin yang which have been built up over the past 50 years or so all arrayed and targeted at South Korea. They are the hostage in this situation. Not so easy a solution here.

Dear Lord, please provide YOUR solution to this mess into the hands and hearts of our Commander and Chief and Military Leaders! Amen.

...we need to change our laws about assasinating heads of state in certain circumstances.

From what I've read here, there is no law concerning the assassination of foreign heads of state. There is an executive order written by Jimmy Carter, forbidding the practice.

He would want to bloody US troops on the ground in South Korea using his numerically superior ground army.

His short term goal, which he may or may not have reached, is to mate a nuclear warhead to a SRBM or an IRBM. That would put US bases in South Korea, Japan, and Guam and civilian targets in South Korea at risk. Left to his own devices he will attain this goal. This is not a good thing.

His longer term goal is to mate a warhead to an ICBM or a SLBM to threaten the US mainland. Although many on FR debunk the possibility, he might be able to virtually destroy a large portion of the US with a single warhead used as a EMP weapon.

Unfortunately he is on his way to both goals. I don't think it is a good thing to let him get there. Strangle the monster in its crib.
