<¡>Who cares how many ways the Republican vote was split. All that was needed was to prevent the Democrat from getting a majority of the vote. Since no candidate got a majority, it goes to a runoff. In Texas, the second place finisher in the first round is more likely to win the runoff election.

I agree. GOP voters had enough candidates to choose from. Running 11 candidates could have brought out more voters.

Has there been a tally of Dem, GOP votes? I’m guessing more GOP votes.
