The presidential election of 2016 shocked the world, but no one was more shocked than Hillary Clinton. A new book on the Clinton campaign contains the revelation that Clinton had to be pressured into conceding her loss on election night by then-President Barack Obama.

“POTUS doesn’t think it’s wise to drag this out,” White House political director David Simas is reported as saying to Robby Mook, Clinton’s campaign manager.

The campaign did not concede at that point.

I am aware that the article is about election night.

But your comment was ".... it's still upsetting that he [Trump] didn't get to make his victory speech earlier in the night...."

I was merely responding to your comment, not the article.

The media still thinks she did not concede and she won, same for SNL, same for all the late show so called comedians.

Gosh, I took a look at last week’s SNL - to say it lacked any humor would be putting it mildly.

ME TOO! The needle! It was a visual euphoria. Honestly. We had a few people over and I and my friend, James, were watching the NY Times coverage and the rest were watching FOX NEWS. We kept telling them the election was over and they weren’t buying it. It was hysterical. And you’re right, the way the NY Times predicted the remaining Counties and explained it was fascinating. Give the devil its due on this one.

I don't know if you're playing games with me or what.

But it was YOU that mentioned it in Post #13 on this thread. That's what my comment was about.

Quote: ".... Although I stayed up to watch Trump, it’s still upsetting that he didn’t get to make a victory speech earlier in the night...."

So unless I am misunderstanding what I am reading, you "mentioned it" and I commented about it.

Time to move on unless there is some point to this exchange that I don't see. Have a good one.

years ago I heard an interview of ex president jimmy Carter. in the interview he described his run for governor he talked about how bad his opponent in the primary was for representing the democrats in there bid for the governorship.
the over all theme was voter fraud. the message I got from him was that voter fraud was rampant in Georgia during the sixties and seventies for the democrat party and he was just better at it then his opponent. the last think any democrat wants is a look at how honest the elections are in any state they controle

Very interesting! Thanks for that information. I wouldn’t have thought Carter would be so frank. Btw, I live in GA and can confirm—the corruption is rampant.

carter never admitted that he committed fraud it was just the take I had from what he said.... the talk show was the Phil Donahue show and I believe it was in the eighties that the interview took place....it would be cool if some one with access to the old shows could find it.

I see what you’re saying. Sometimes with pols like Carter it’s not too hard to read between the lines.

As for the interview, I guess I’m the rightwing version of a snowflake. I don’t think I could tolerate that sustained an exposure to the anti-semite, Carter. I’d far rather take your word for what he said. :)

That’s understandable. I just note that you have more fortitude than I do. My tolerance level for listening to Carter erodes further by the year. He was good at Habitat for Humanity. He’s been slipping into a more anti-Israel/pro-Palistinian persona ever since. I know he wasn’t as bad in the 80s, but I would personally still give that interview a pass. I’ll always have something more urgent to do than listen to bitter ex-presidents.
