How Berkeley became epicenter of violent Trump clashes

Berkeley is also a potent symbol because of its role as the birthplace of the Free Speech Movement in 1964:

Before fall 1964, students' politicking had been limited to a small sidewalk strip thought to be off-campus and immune from university restrictions. Students such as Mario Savio returned from searing experiences as civil rights workers in the South and sought to expand campaigns in California, upsetting some state legislators.

After learning that the property was owned by UC, school authorities moved to shut down the area and ban the tables and pamphleting there. Activists challenged the rules by resuming their activities. Three months of confrontations, demonstrations and negotiations followed and became international news. Eventually, the restrictions were lifted with some limitations — a victory that paved the way for later protests supporting women's' rights and environmentalism and opposing the Vietnam War.

Easy answer. Violent liberals and anarchists occupy the city.

Center!, not Epicenter. You’d think the LATimes would know better.

Dear L.A. Times:

Please review the definition of ‘liberal.’ The rioters at Berkeley are the antithesis of liberal. Also, please look up the word ‘irony,’ since you failed to notice the irony or at the very least, the inconsistencies, of Berkeley being the birthplace of free speech and what they are engaging in currently.

So the LAT is making this out to be a very small, mysterious group of outsiders who are turning the peaceful Berkley activists’ protests violent. Wrong. The logical conclusion of entire Berkley culture is violence. The “peaceful” protestors are trying to shut down speech too. They just aren’t stabbing and beating people to do it. But they are screaming and disrupting events. Its a small step from one to the other, especially when you see the hate exhibited by the “peaceful” protestors. Liberal culture is a violence culture.

You’d think the LATimes would know better.

If you would start spending your evenings at 5th and Wall in downtown, making sure you partake in all the activities going on, you would have a better understanding of their thought processes.

Why would anyone even want to step foot in Berkeley?

Excellent point, FRiend Lydia.

We on the right are the inheritors of the “classical liberal” tradition of Locke, Montesqiou, Adam Smith ... and our Founding Fathers.

For this reason, I try very hard to never use the word “liberal,” even in casual conversation.

Instead, I find “leftist” is much more accurate. These people hate freedom, especially the freedom to keep the fruits of one’s labor.

They were all dressed identical in black hoodies. It was an organized attempt at intimidation. I hate to say it, but it will continue till someone has had enough and opens fire. Then all hell will break loose.

The Left demanded to have a say in the 60s.
Now that they are in charge they demand everyone else shut up. Or else!

Ironic the home for the fight for free speech is now the home for restricted speech.

Stick around long enough and we eventually see that pendulum swing the other way I guess.

Then again the left has been turning everything around. Up is down. Right is wrong. Boy has a penis girl has a vagina. Etc. Etc.

Peaceful Protesters don’t wear full head masks, only people who have intent to do crimes.

"Why would anyone even want to step foot in Berkeley?"

It's a nice little town, pretty houses. If you could just get rid of all of the communists (i.e. citizens of Berkley) it would be a nice place to live....

“The Left demanded to have a say in the 60s.”

My parents lived in Berkeley shortly after I was born ( until WWII broke out and my father enlisted in the Navy and was sent to Australia for four years). They told me that when they arrived in Northern California in 1936, that the UC Berkeley professors even then were crowing about how they were going to make Berkeley the first Communist City in the US. Now nearly a century later, they are still trying to make “their dream come true!”

How Berkeley became epicenter of violent Trump clashes>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Lets get this exactly right:

**********************************************************

How Berkeley became epi-sphincter of violent Trump clashes.

**********************************************************

That will accurately imply their ever present scent of feces and emphasize the true nature of their materialist liberal fascist ideology. They are hardly Americans or even patriots.

The so-called “free speech” movement was a fraud.

The very same people today push safe spaces, White privilege, and censorship of anything wholesome.

It was just an expedient claim to attain their goals back then. Now censorship is. Same goals.

I’d bonus a few thousand dollars to a dozen Special Forces guys to break the fragile parts of the hooded thugs. A couple hundred busted legs would send a message.
