Lol, what a joke. In fact, the idea of ‘income inequality’ did motivate me to vote Trump. Why? Because that load out of socialism is total bullcrap.
It's a contribution to a blog the paper's website hosts. It may or may not have appeared in the paper (probably not). Putting it on the website may say something about the blog editors or the company, but it's not something the journalistic staff of the paper produced.
Anyway, as one of the commenters on the Post site said, the "symbolic racism" scores of Trump voters were actually lower than those for Romney voters. Moreover, Republicans may have been responding to the language used "work your way up," "take responsibility" etc., rather than to the racial component of the questions which may be more a reflection of what's on the pollsters' minds rather than the respondents'.
