actually i found this on wiki don’t know if it was true but i was surprised how many carriers japan still has floating. i remember the last one of englands going belly up.

Yeah, that is a lot of fire power. I live on the east/west axis of McGuire AFB. McGuire is about half an hour west of my front door and the Atlantic Ocean is just eight miles due east of my backyard fence. For the last week there have a number of Delta flights of air refuelers heading east. More than a few C-17A cargo jets too.

” It’s not all that uncommon to have three carrier battle groups operate together and with the JMSDF and ROK Navy forces. We used to have an exercise called Team Spirit off the coast of Korea with all those forces combined. During my six years of sea duty in Japan we participated in many of them. Obviously some muscle flexing there too. “
