I agree that it is not a wise move considering that, as recently as a few weeks ago, N. Koreans took hostage all personnel of Malaysian Embassy in Pyongyang in order to get Kim Jong-nam’s body and the safe passage of prime suspects for Kim's assassination holed up in N. Korean Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

A more accurate title would read:

"US Said Preparing Strike To 'Utterly Destroy' N. Korean Nuclear Program" aka Clinton/Albright legacy

I have seen these factoids in several places and I do find them a bit hard to believe. However be sure a huge targeting problem if one wishes to save Seoul & minimize casualties.

100k casualties in the first salvo if no warning in Seoul. 300-500k if no counter battery fire from South Korea. 1mm + if CBRNE employed. Gas is hell in built up urban areas, esp. if heavy and seeps down into bomb shelters.

The operation has to be quick, massive with overwhelming force.

Or, arrange for Fat Un to walk into the path of a speeding bullet....

Exactly.

How many South Koreans will die if we act now? How many will die if we don’t?

Going to need a lot of intercepters / lasers to protect Seoul. Most people do not realize:

1) how close it is to the DMZ (35 miles)
2) How many missiles from the North can strike Seoul. NK uses a lot of mobile launchers for their SCUD rockets. The Rodong-1 has a range of 1km+ (600+ miles) and the Hwasong-10 has a range of 2.5 to 4 km(1500+ miles)

NK is only about 210 miles north to south so both the Rodong and Hwasong SCUDS can be launched from anywhere in the North and hit Seoul.

My guess is that any attack will coincide with word from China that the little fat boy has either been killed or he is retiring to spend more time with his family.

I do not believe there will be any violence.

China’s #1 problem is 25 million people need to enter the workforce each year in order to forestall a full civil war in China. The population is fractious as seen by the fact that there are four different HDTV broadcast protocols with no interoperability.

China has said openly that if the USA increases tariffs or engages in a boycott of Chinese goods, they will consider that a declaration of war and will launch a full nuke attack on the USA.

Trump basically told the President of China that if China takes out Fat Kimmy, Trump will back off of pressing China for trade concessions.

I think China will tell Fat Kimmy and the military leaders that they have been annexed by China. Done deal. Resistance means death to millions of NORK’s.

China will dismantle the nuke program and unload the tubes facing Seoul. China doesn’t want our THAAD anti-missile system in South Korea, so they will simply remove the threat of rockets and missiles.

Fat Kimmy will live in exile until he is executed by Chinese agents. All relatives of the Kim Dynasty will be killed.

The DPRK will simply become a province of China. BTW, I think Wall Street agrees with this scenario.

"Do tell. How do you wipe out 20-30,000 targets that quickly?"

It's doubtful that the North has "20-30,000" artillery weapons with ranges of more than 30 miles.

Ok. let’s say it’s one thousand. How do you deal with that before Seoul is significantly damaged?

The best way to find the answer to that question is to use the Internet to learn more about our equipment developed over the past 30 years. Technologies available to North Korea are more than 60 years old.

You have to have total air superiority, by time you can take down all the air defense nets, Seoul has already been wiped off the map.

The primary objective a this point should be to kill the fat man and those closest to him. Perhaps some of his palace guard can be persuaded by the threat of imminent annihilation to get that job done before it’s too late. His replacement might then prefer complying with demands to relinquish the WMDs to the alternative of a full-scale military attack.

What I fear is the fat bastard supplying nukes to ISIS. If they could manage to get one shipped into a harbor it is big league trouble.
