" once you fast, you feel entitled to celebrate Easter; it is like the exhilaration of fresh water when one is thirsty. You’ve paid a price."

Jesus paid the price on the Cross. Having to fast to feel entitled is saying that I have to do something to help myself gain salvation. Just come as you and accept Him as Savior without any additional works to be saved or "feel entitled to celebrate Easter".

You mistake the suffering servant for the one who kept the law perfectly. Jesus allowed mand and God to be reunited in their relationship by keeping the Law....every jot and title that was redemption. By His stripes we are healed....His time on the cross, his suffering from Gesthemane onward were acts of healing our brokenness.

saying that I have to do something to help myself gain salvation.

You do. Sorry. How about "repent and believe in the Good News". Is that too much?

And why are you conflating "being saved" with "feeling entitled to celebrate Easter"? Those aren't the same thing.
