On Thursday night, America launched the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb (MOAB) at ISIS stations in Afghanistan. The air blast bomb, dubbed with the nickname Mother of All Bombs engendered the death of 36 ISIS militants, Afghan officials report. The deaths took place near the Pakistan border, where ISIS is believed to have up to 800 soldiers stationed. The Mother of All Bombs annihilated weapons, ammunition, and underground tunnels, but according to the Afghan Defense Ministry spokesperson, there were no civilian casualties.

On a historical note: This massive bomb is the same weight as the British designed and built ‘Grand Slam’ bomb of WW2 that was used against the German submarine pens — 22,000 pounds.

Also, whereas the MOAB is dropped from a C-130 transport, modified Lancaster bombers carried and dropped the Grand Slam.

Since the MOAB was designed to collapse tunnels, how did anyone do an 'underground' body count? The number is an unknowable, unknowable {in the words of the great Rummy}.

36 dead, what did someone go take a roll call? I just don’t see how you can get an accurate count. Collapsed tunnels, anyone outside on guard = puddles of goo. Maybe intercepted communications? Or pure propaganda in which case they should have said 150 dead.
It really breaks my heart when I think that we have to spend more than .50 cents per jihadi that we have to kill!
