What a bunch of short sighted CaliFlakes. They should be looking ahead to when our Sun goes nova and consumes all the
CO that Cali missed in their hayday.

Insanity is a requirement to be a resident in California.

The Big One on the San Andreas is supposed to destroy everything. Smog will kill us all. Snail Darters were all gonna die. The California kangaroo rat is about to disappear. Thank God the sea will rise and drown us too.

If it happens there would be much rejoicing throughout the land.

Could be catastrophic. Could be not. Could be sea levels fall.

This assholes can’t possibly know climate 100 years out. They can’t even predict weather 5 days out with any accuracy whatsoever. They say it will rain 3 days from now and it doesn’t.

California is the absolute worst of them.

Sea-level rise in California could be catastrophic, study says

Does this mean it may NOT kill every liberal in Kalifornistan?? That would indeed be tragic!

We could only hope that if this would happen, that it would take care of our liberal problem in California.

Problem solved.

I have lived in California all my 46 years and two things I have been hearing since 3rd grade:

1) We are sure to have a 10.0 earthquake that will destroy the state.

2) The ocean waters are rising and half the state will soon be under water.

Needless to say neither has happened.

During the last 100 years the sea level has risen 2 millimeters along the California coast.

2 millimeters = 0.0787402 of 1 inch

Fear this, O people of coastal CA. Dump your dangerous ocean view properties en masse. Run! Head for the hills! So we intelligent people can buy your houses at something under $3 mil! Run!

You couldn’t pay me to live on the water in Malibu. The ocean laps your windows at high tide now. If the ocean only rose about 8 feet late one night, The world would be a better place.

12 cent gas tax voted in this week by state legislature, etc, etc.

Plus 10 cent for every bag used when you buy something.

How high has it risen in the last 500 years? What do the models say about that and what happened to all those coastal towns...

Lets go a few steps beyond that. The Mississippi dumps around 200 million tons of sediment into the the Gulf of Mexico every year or about 3.6 billion cubic feet. Thats just one river. Now lets include all the rivers and all the erosion and other means of which sediment gets deposited in the ocean. Lets also remember that where we’re drilling into the Cline formation out here in West TX was once the bottom of a huge ocean Basin. Yes the ocean is rising, just like it always has and just like it always will. The only way this process has ever been reversed (Slowed down is a more correct term.) was when large amounts of water was land locked in the form of snow and ice, such as the Ice Ages.
