A conservation group and an Arizona congressman have filed what they say is the first federal lawsuit against the proposed border wall.
The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Tucson by the Center for Biological Diversity and U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva, a southern Arizona Democrat.
Wildlife conservationists say the wall would be detrimental to rare animals such as jaguars and ocelots that are known to traverse the international line.
The lawsuit seeks to require the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to put together a report on construction of the wall and the environmental impact of expanded operations on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Typical snail darted is more important than if some Texas’s daughter gets raped and killed.
These people are bile and disgusting.
Grijalva is a true sandia: green on the outside, but really read inside.
He has a thing for wild burros, only as it keeps control over people and private property.
These people ARE the enemy of the Republic.
They rank right up there with the terrorists in the destruction of our nation.
Good ol’ Rau-oooool.
Gotta love ‘im....
Just as soon not have the jaguars on this side of the border...just sayin’. Folks in Hereford are complaining about losing livestock to a large predator.
That’s not all that unusual, we have lots of lions in the area.
To be honest, there are going to have to be spots along the border where the wall/fence will be open to transit by animals. River crossings come to mind. As do Indian reservations. That could make for some interesting situations!
The freeway is the wall with some openings for the animals to go through.
You must be talking about Alligator Alley because that's something I'd remember from my recent (daylight) drive on 41 from Miami to Naples.
Yes, I am talking about highway 75 AKA Alligator Alley. The Everglades are a giant lake with the waterflow slowly going south. They built highway 75 and now the everglades are divided and the water does not flow as easily and neither do the animals. All of those highways in the everglades should have been built as bridges not directly on land blocking the free flow of everything.
