Neither side is taking prisoners in Syria and if Assad prevails he will hunt down, torture and kill any suspected rebel (any Sunni) or (any Sunni) army deserter for the next thirty years. It’s all or nothing for both sides so long as Assad remains in control. There will never be any nogiations with Assad in power. That was the folly of John Kerry.
