Press Secretary Sean Spicer went on CNN to fight for his job after favorably comparing Adolf Hitler with Bashar al-Assad at today's White House briefing.
Spicer had said unlike the Syrian strongman, the 1940s Nazi dictator 'didn't even sink to ... using chemical weapons,' leaving reporters in disbelief and causing some critics to call for his head.
'I apologize, it was a mistake to do that,' Spicer said to the network's Wolf Blitzer, whose own parents survived the Holocaust. Blitzer's paternal grandparents were killed by the Nazis at Auschwitz.

When did apologizing become groveling?
That was a 1 layer epidermis paper cut.
Big deal...
Holocaust Center was a dumb term to use.
Hang in there, Sean. In a month, they’ll be griping about something else. And remember what Trump said when the p*ssy-grabbing tape came out: “I never quit.”
“Well it just goes to show everyone the double standard in the left wing media. A Republican makes a mistake speaking off the cuff and the left demands his or her resignation. If a similar mistake was made by a left wing progressive, the MSM would ignore it.”
Yes. Always the case.
Spicer ain’t going anywhere - quit the stupid nitpicking.
Oh yawwwn.
We all make mistakes; and if we are recorded every day by people waiting for a “gotcha!” moment, we are going
to be caught.
But we all know he isn’t an anti-semite, and that he wasn’t denying the Holocaust, and that the administration is not anti-semitic. And it is is a lie to say that it is (worse than any mistake Spicer made.)
He probably forgot about Hitler sending poison gas through shower vents. One can’t recall ever atrocity committed by totalitarians at the drop of a hat.
We know how this works - you apologize “for anyone who may have been offended” and the forget about it.
Okay, he stepped in it. I can’t say it’s not a big deal, but I don’t think he should step down over it.
It’s my take he was probably focused on domestic and military actions in Germany and abroad, and wasn’t focused on the death camps.
He should apologize and be allowed to move on.
I’m sure he feels bad about it. I would.
True. The apology was a huge mistake. You would think he would have learned that from his boss.
Yeah, really
Shouldn’t the CongressClown who thought Guam might tip over quit? How about MadMax Waters who has shot her mouth off left and right recently?
How about the calls for Madonna to get lost after dreaming of blowing up the WH? Or the Drexel U “professor”?
hilLIAR and her cronies with their unsecured server and emails? Huma? Podesta?
Good grief, Spicer made an honest mistake. Everyone knows what he meant, it wasn’t used in a battle context.
Give it a rest. If this is “all they have” then they are not doing their jobs. Investigate the Dimocrats for corruption, now that takes some work and brains. Up to the tasks, MSM? I think not.
DON’T APOLOGIZE TO THESE STUPID FRIGGIN LIBERAL IDIOTS!!!!
So only liberals can define Hitler and how bad Hitler was...???
And I guess it’s okay for liberals to proclaim that anyone they disagree with is “literally” Hitler, too, right?
I get that it he fouled up his talking point, but geez louise. And really now— there are plenty of despots throughout world history who could arguably be described as “worse than Hitler”. You could carry on a debate forever on the subject.
Liberals are so freakin stupid !!!!! With their small, boxed-in tiny, little minds.
Repubs will start demanding his resignation in 5-4-3...
If you apologize even A LITTLE, this type of person is hugely emboldened and demands more and more and more.
Better not to apologize or explain at ALL.
Exactly!!!
Why the EFF do these flunkies get to define Hitler???
Give me a break!!!
This is true.
Or Nathan Brittles.
