California's secretary of state is backing a push from state lawmakers to make its presidential nominating contest the third in the nation.
Legislation offered by Democratic state lawmakers seeks to move California's from June to shortly after Iowa and New Hampshire's presidential primaries.
"A state as populous and diverse as California should not be an afterthought. Moving up the California primary in 2020 makes sense and will give California voters a more significant role.

Cool. That will give Jim Robinson more influence in the election.
Didn’t they know? California doesn’t count.
This is to give the rat nomination to Kamela Harris.
Here we go again. SC, NV, and a slew of states after those will respond. IA and NH will push their dates back to insure they get to keep their every four year racket going.
It’s a good move for California and state legislatures should take measures that benefit their state.
All states should primary on the same day. This isn’t the 1800s anymore ... no need for candidates to travel by train from location to location. With the technology we have available today, they should all primary at the same time. That would avoid the crapola of the media swaying the elections at the primary level.
I live here. Do it.
She’s going to get it any way, and I’ve been saying that here for months.
The length of the process is very important when it comes to vetting.
It’s okay the way it is.
We want to see it play out, the dynamics involved, the players revealing themselves.
We wouldn’t have seen near the “outing” that occurred in 2016 with it.
In that map, why are some states split in 2? Are there runoffs?
“Its a good move for California...”
Indeed. And it’s a good move for America. California fascists will nominate the most radical, stupid, knuckle-dragging, left wing, bat-chit crazy Marxist possible. The choice will be rejected by everyone across America. For variety, the loser rats will blame the ChiComms.
Cool. In time for the populist President Trump, with islamists and the Norks contained, to run as a Democrat.
All right !!
Moving Kalifornia to the front would ensure no candidate could ever again start from a relatively unknown position and gradually build momentum to win a party’s nomination. Those unable to raise many millions of dollars before the first primary need not apply.
Clearly, any Kalifornicators who support this idea AND believe the (evil!) Koch Brothers (not to mention their beloved George Soros) have too much influence on our elections have failed to think this through.
I'm thinking that Trump spent very little money in Kalifornia for all of the obvious reasons. If that really is the case then Kalifornia seems to have little to do with "conservative" politics.
