The earth has had many ice ages (major and minor glaciations), including at least one “Snowball Earth”!
In fact we are in the Quaternary Period, a period defined by the cyclic ebb and flow of continental ice sheets. There is no physical evidence (Not computer simulations!) yet to assume we have entered a new geologic period. We are likely in a lull. Lulls last for 10s of thousands to millions of years. In the Quaternary the lulls seem to be 20 to 25 thousands of years. The last glaciation ended roughly (depending on who’s doing the counting!) 22 thousand years ago. It looks like we’re due so maybe we better hope the global warming clowns are right! Warm = Good! Cold = Bad!

I had a geology professor (Years ago before the AGW polluted thinking started!) say, ‘Lulls are great that’s when civilization happens!’ Think about it everything we see touch, smell, eat & think about is thanks to the current lull. When its over, current civilization might be over!

Triassic? So a far higher oxygen and CO2 atmosphere with the resulting mega-vegetation is terrible? Emphysema patients will no longer have to carry around those heavy oxygen tanks, among other benefits of a high oxygen content atmosphere.

Plants will grow huge and become more plentiful - starvation will be a thing of the past.

On the downside, insects will be come bigger, and the reintroduction of dinosaurs will be come a possibility (once some one figures how to decrease gravity so they can stand without being crushed by their own weight), perhaps start with just the smaller ones like the velociraptors ...

Triassic ! Come on lets do better ! Lets go back to the Devonian or Permian ! We can still have big plants & I can have my trilobites back! I bet they are great rolled in a beer based batter then deep fried! 😀

They mean the world will be warm, wet, and fertile?
Not seeing a downside here.

its a cult religion.

A sinful and wicked mankind has been wasteful and wanton. We have destroyed our original Eden. We must appease mother gaia, or she will destroy us with fire and ice. Above all, obey and have faith in her self-appointed high priests on earth who are privy to the details of “climate change.”

"Researchers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory found that despite the increased human emissions of greenhouse gases, between 2002 and 2014, plants were somehow able to absorb more carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere"

Somehow??? Plants REQUIRE CO2 to live. The atmosphere contains only one molecule of CO2 for every 2,500 molecules of air. Humans need one molecule of oxygen for every 5 molecules of air. Of course plants can use up more CO2. They're starving for it now. Humans would die if they had such little oxygen.

10 years ago, I predicted in a model I made while out drinking with some buddies that the climate today would be basically the same. I think my model needs more recognition now!

We’re due for the next ice age to start (interglacials last 10-15K years, we’re 12K in).
The fact we’ve had warmer periods in other interglacials including this one is ignored by scientists, including the editing of the Medieval Warm Period out of Wikipedia by liberals.

Have these idiots ever heard of photosynthesis? Plants CONSUME CO2 and produce O2, which will safeguard imaginary CO2 increases.

Left unchecked, plants would get bigger with increased CO2 levels. But more farmland will produce more food to feed the billions on this planet. So you can argue that more CO2 can be beneficial.

BTW, what those “scientists” are espousing is the discredited Malthus effect.

You have to take that up with the global warmists - they seem to have set a goal and would like to pass legislation mandating it - I say to achieve an even more distant era we need to start burning coal seriously while doing away with this unleaded crap gas and going back to good old cheap leaded gas - our engines would be much happier!

Permian here we come - wait! Which side of the Devonian and Permian Mass Extinctions do we want to be on? Perhaps if we start in the Saurian and work our way to the Devonian? Or start in the Carboniferous and move to the Permian?

Isn’t that sort of what Libs want — the obliteration of mankind?

Recall the Population Zero movement from 60 years ago. There are even some today advocating a reduction in Earth’s population — by a few BILLION.
