Something else to consider:

We have thousands of troops in Syria. To them, the risk of chemical attack is real.

This tells them that their CinC has their back.

You do realize that the world situation is just “slightly” different in 2017 than it was in 2013, gator ?

“... troops in Syria....risk of chemical attack is real...”

Yes, a slight risk, I suppose.

The rebels, despite generally hating America, are not likely to do it because we are helping their cause. Plus, according to the cruise-justifying intel, the rebels are not capable. I doubt Assad would do it because he is easier to find and would be dead by morning.

Either way, the real question for Trump is: why do we have troops there?

Apparently, according to his Sec of State, Trump’s policy toward Syria is now... wait for it.... regime change.

After his lurch from sanity to establishment-loving on the Obamacare-lite issue, it is a perfectly logical question to wonder if Trump is now leading us to swallow Bush-lite.

Both of which Trump ran hard against.

Congress authorized military action in Syria already. How the CiC uses that military force is not within congresses power. There is only one Commander in Chief.

We’ve been involved in at least a dozen “wars” where congress was not consulted.

A state or Congress are the only bodies that can get us into ‘war’.

That would give the Muslim Democrats Carson el and Ellison el a chance to warn their Muslim homies - no thanks.

In WW II we kept “Magic” the code breaking system used to decipher Japanese messages a secret from comrade Roosevelt. Democrat then Democrats now all the same.

Dropping missiles into another sovereign country is war. Don't try to Obama out of that.

Tell that to Truman, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Reagan, Clinton, W, and Obama.

Your mordant lack of historical knowledge, is appalling! This is a shot across the bow, to tell the world to not mess with us. It is NOT a "war".

We ( those of us who know about it ) called it the KOREAN WAR; however, it was NEVER declared to be a "WAR"...rather, Truman called it a "police action". Yet, unlike last night's teensy MISSILE STRIKE"; we sent over boots on the ground, battleships, etc.! Don't even attempt to play stupid kiddie games with me; especially when you don't know any recent history.

And all of those 'actions' didn't provide victory. Don't act like those actions were constitutional or within the authority granted to a Pres, which is very modest.

Past actions were wrong, and led to what we have today, not much. Your points are without merit.

Oh gee...so you now know better, than anyone else EVER has? LOL

Poor you...Monday morning quarerbacking/hindsight knowledge master.

Look, you are ignoring vast amounts of factual history ( which no doubt you do NOT know at all! ), which made these proxy "wars" possible and the whole, truly stupid Wilsonian "SELF-DETERMINATION" led to the Nam mess and actually every single war/conflict since the signing of The Treaty of Versailles, in 1919. Both the French and English saw Wilson as the utter fool that he was and added their own insane bits to that treaty.

I suggest that you read PARIS 1919, anything and everything on Woodrow Wilson, and the history history of Japan ( from 1910-1945 ), before you reply to me. You can't change history, there are precedents, reasons for many things you obviously are incapable of understanding, and your dug in intransigence, combined with your inability to comprehend WHY things were/are done, is appalling' to say the least.
