House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes said Thursday he’d temporarily step away from the committee’s Russia probe as he deals with an investigation from the House Ethics Committee about whether he made unauthorized disclosures of classified information.
“Several leftwing activist groups have filed accusations against me with the Office of Congressional Ethics,” he said. “Despite the baselessness of the charges, I believe it is in the best interests of the House Intelligence Committee and the Congress for me to have Representative Mike Conway, with assistance from Representatives Trey Gowdy and Tom Rooney, temporarily take charge of the Committee’s Russia investigation.”
The House Ethics Committee weighed in immediately following Nunes’ announcement and said it was aware of the accusations. The committee said it was investigating “certain allegations of unauthorized disclosures of classified information,” according to a statement posted by multiple media outlets.

I think the real challenge will be finding an investigative body in Washington that has integrity. This is moving in the direction of constitution crisis. I could see the FBI reporting that Trump needs to be impeached and another body just the opposite. Its going to get weird. This is civil war territory. The left won’t stop until we are destroyed and they don’t care what happens to this country.
Looks like the UniParty fix is in. Maybe that can get Trey Gowdy to hold some hearing and pretend to be mad.

These accusations and complaints against Nunes are acts of deep desperation on the part of Democrats.

I agree. There are glaring, obvious ethics issues with so many of the Dems, because they don’t think that rules apply to them and feel no guilt when they break rules. In their gut, they are simply lawless criminals -— and I, for one, do not want to be governed by criminals. We need to find a group or groups to start filing ethics charges on every Dem we can think of for not paying their taxes, taking money under the table from donors, leaking information, etc, etc, ad infinitum -— don’t let Alinsky win this asymmetrical “warfare”:
Rule 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
If the Dems want us to obey the rules, they need to do it first -— otherwise we need to follow their lead and ignore ignore any rule they don’t think is important for themselves!!!

Stepping aside is for after they have found wrong doing. There is no obligation to step aside while they investigate. The GOP pussies just cannot say “go to hell” when they are in the right. That is why the street-fighting jihadist commie left is cleaning their clocks.

You’re right - mid-morning Fox had Gowdy in the middle of the new triumvirate but apparently he’s not the new or even the acting chairman of the committee - sorry......
