You have to buy heirloom tomatoes or ones at the farmers market. Same with broccoli, and other vegetables. Strawberries are often dyed red at the supermarket.

I am even discovering that their are heirloom tomatoes with all the texture and color of the originals, but still no taste. Agribusiness can screw up anything.

There’s a pick-your-own farm not far from where I live. They have lots of big red ripe tomatoes that you can pick off of the vine, but they’re not very flavorful.
