Multiple Reports: All Unmasking Fingers Pointing Toward Nat Sec Adviser Susan Rice
Conservative Treehouse ^ | April 3, 2017 | Sundance

Posted on 04/03/2017 4:17:19 PM PDT by detective

Fox News, The Daily Mail and Bloomberg News are all reporting the unmaking requests of collected surveillance activity was made by President Obama’s former National Security Adviser Susan Rice.

However, it remains unclear if Rice just made the unmasking requests, or if she herself did the unmasking.  Additionally, reporting by all three media outlets claims the surveillance of the Trump campaign encompassed more than a year.

"...with a cover story indemnity for those involved and the permission to lie about it if they’re ever caught.”

Wikileaks recently said that our intelligence agencies have software that can appear as of Russian, or Chinese origin. Hmmmm.

Is it legal to unmask American citizens if there is not a national security interest involved in the intercepted communication?

Would the original agency be required to do that if there was no national security interest, or could/must they refuse someone who was authorized to request an unmasking but was doing so for non-national-security reasons? (i.e. Rice)

Was she in a position to legally have seen the original intercepts before masking? That is confusing since some reports are saying she requested the unmasking, others are saying she did it herself, which would mean she knew the identities from the initial surveillance.

Thanks, O2

I’ve really been wondering the same thing. I’m hoping this quiet on Sessions’ part is part of a can’t fail strategy of the POTUS.

“Is it legal to unmask American citizens if there is not a national security interest involved in the intercepted communication?”

A National Security Adviser can ask for the unmasking over passing national security curiosity.

What they are forbidden to do is distribute to anyone without a need to know.

What Gowdy brought up in the hearings with Comey and NSA Chief Rogers a few weeks ago was that since the NSA and FBI already had Flynn’s name and the conversations (which they both agreed they did), the leaker’s motive couldn’t have been national security since the agencies in charge of national security already had the info. Who would Rice have thought she had to notify to further protect national security?

I would also hope that there would need to be more than a ‘curiosity’ to legitimately unmask a US person, but this is the fedgov, so probably not...

Do you know if the agencies must unmask when asked?

Thanks,
O2

It is easy to conclude these people would not do this without Obama’s acquiescence If we can get a few long term prison terms someone may give up the godfather. It took about 18 months for watergate to perk up to the head guy

Thank you for posting that beautiful memorial graphic.

Also keep in mind, US Navy SEAL, William 'Ryan' Owens, 36, lost his life, and three other Americans were wounded in the Yemen raid because of intel breach which could have been a result of the "Awan Brothers" unauthorized IT access to intel these treasonous overpaid "IT" specialists obtained using their top security access to 31 democrats computer systems, particularly access to intel from

Stuart Varney, Maria Bartiromo and Elizabeth MacDonald discuss in this tweeted Varney & Co. video clip - transcript follows:

*****

Stuart Varney :

Three Congressional IT, ‘information technology’, IT employees have been fired for accessing members computer networks without permission. Maria’s on the show and knows more about this. Can you fill in about this?

Maria Bartiromo:

Here are their names, Stuart. Let me what the three, uh, people who were fired on Thursday: Abid, Imran, and Jamal Awan. They were barred from computer networks at the House of Representatives on Thursday because they accessed Congressmen’s, Congress people’s computer networks unauthorized. At a minimum, they were fired. They haven’t been arrested yet. At a minimum, we know that they accessed computers unauthorized – and they did so in:

Stuart Varney :

Terrible, terrible. Incredible story

Elizabeth MacDonald:

I hear what you’re saying, I mean, these intelligence committees handle our terror strategies, right?

Maria Bartiromo:

(cross talk) ...they got information on Benghazi, by the way.

Elizabeth MacDonald:

And it looks like they, they, yes, they work for many democrats in these House Committees.

Stuart Varney :

(cross talk) ‘Good God!’

Maria Bartiromo:

They are thinking that maybe they could be also one of the people, one of the reasons that Debbie Wasserman Schultz account got hacked. So, there is so much more to come on this, Stuart, this is such an incredible story!

What we have isn’t a swamp that needs draining but the entire pit of hell. It needs to be laid out for all to see. To heck with any classified info as everyone who wanted it already has it. End the corruption immediately.

Fox just aired conflict of interest associated with McCabe, MacCallum just had Grassley on and she's on the McCabe thing again. So two spots in one show. (currently searching for video);

George Webb also commented on his Day162 - Hillary's Hackers, Awan Brothers Saga Deepens, Part 3 video:

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe regarding the spurious dossier leaked to the media ahead of President Trump’s inauguration.

Grassley also wants to know whether McCabe’s involvement in the probe “raises the appearance a conflict of interest in light of his wife’s ties with Clinton’s associates” and whether it would merit McCabe recusing himself from the investigation.

Grassley was referring to McCabe’s wife having accepted $700,000 in political contributions facilitated by Hillary Clinton ally Terry McAuliffe, the Virginia governor, for her state Senate run.

Grassley noted McCabe already is being looked at by the inspector general for his involvement in the Clinton email investigation, despite his wife's ties.

“While Mr. McCabe recused himself from public corruption cases in Virginia – presumably including the reportedly ongoing investigation of Mr. McAuliffe regarding illegal campaign contributions – he failed to recuse himself from the Clinton email investigation, despite the appearance of a conflict created by his wife’s campaign accepting $700,000 from a close Clinton associate during the investigation.”

excerpt from the article

The names were part of incidental electronic surveillance of candidate and President-elect Trump and people close to him, including family members, for up to a year before he took office

Since the surveillance was in effect 6 months before the primary, how much unmasking was requested for the other candidates for Republican, democrat and independent parties ? Or was this a Trump only surveillance ? In Feb 2016 there were (Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Bush, Kasich, Christie) all still in the running. Would love to see anything snooped on Jeb or Kasich campaigns.
