That Was Then But This Is Now

That Was Then But This Is Now

1. LOCK HER UP.

Donald Trump Then:

After FBI Director James Comey in July recommended not charging Clinton, Trump cited it as evidence the election was “rigged” and said the FBI “rolled over.”

He pledged to appoint a special prosecutor, and even told Clinton during a debate that if he were president, “you’d be in jail.”

Donald Trump Now:

But after he won the election, Trump said he wouldn’t recommend prosecuting Clinton, saying she already “suffered greatly” and that it’s “just not something I feel very strongly about.”

Trump was speaking in Grand Rapids, Mich., as part of his “thank you” tour when he heard some chants of “lock her up” - a common refrain during his campaign events.

“That plays great before the election - now we don't care, right?” Trump responded, according to CNN.

2. DACA

Donald Trump Then:

Opposed DACA and DAPA and called Obama's executive orders on DACA and DAPA “one of the most unconstitutional actions ever undertaken by a President.” –

“We will immediately terminate President Obama’s two illegal executive amnesties in which he defied federal law and the constitution to give amnesty to approximately 5 million illegal immigrants,” Trump said at an August speech in Arizona, where immigration hard-liner Joe Arpaio introduced him.

Donald Trump Now:

“They got brought here at a very young age, they’ve worked here, they’ve gone to school here. Some were good students. Some have wonderful jobs. And they’re in never-never land because they don’t know what’s going to happen,” Trump said in an interview with Time.

In an interview that aired Wednesday, Trump said DACA participants shouldn't be "very worried."

“They shouldn’t be very worried, I do have a big heart. We’re going to take care of everybody, we’re going to have a very strong border, we’re going to have a very solid border,” Trump told ABC's David Muir. “You have great people that are here that have done a good job, they should be far less worried.”

3. AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

Donald Trump Then:

As he campaigned for the White House that he declared in an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes”: “I am going to take care of everybody … Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.” More recently, Trump has promised that repeal will end with “a beautiful picture.”

Donald Trump Now:

The White House said Monday that President Trump is “absolutely” serious about working with Democrats on health-care legislation and other priorities after conservative Republicans balked at a GOP plan to repeal and replace Obamacare.

“We learned a lot through this process,” said White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. “If we can come up with resolution on a way to move forward, we’ll certainly entertain that. I don’t think we’ve seen the end of health care.”

Mr. Trump criticized the conservative House Freedom Caucus for failing to support the administration-backed bill last week, saying they were allowing Obamacare to remain in place and permitting federal funding for Planned Parenthood.

Asked if working with Democrats would require a serious course correction by the administration, Mr. Spicer said, “Sure.”

So his promise for health care was health care for all. A better plan at a lower cost.

You want an infrastructure bill that's even larger than any proposed by Obama that was then deemed too expensive and only lining the pockets of democrats and unions because that's who those types of projects help.

I always said he can't just go to the halls of congress and point to the rep or Senator who gets in his way and say "you're fired". He can't fire Pelosi. He can't fire McCain. He can't fire Graham. He can't fire the judge that stops his immigration policy. So if you can't fire them, you've got to become a leader and work with them. Reagan figured out a way, for the most part.

That's my point. You're not going to get anyone substantially better, because the job is herding cats.

If we are worried about mid-terms this early in the game, then we have the same problem just after them going into 2020. Which means it's suicide no matter when it's done.

‘No GOP POTUS can advance his agenda while fighting both wings of his own party, the lobbyists, the Dems and MSM.’

I’ve never seen anything like the resistance Trump faces hour by hour, minute by minute. It would be surreal, if it weren’t for the fact that the Uniparty, The Swamp and the Deep State are united to destroy him.

The left’s strategy is to keep Trump so distracted with Russiagate and investigations that he can’t function.

Two can — and should — play that game.

Hillary and Bill and Huma ought to be kept busy looking for documents and meeting with their lawyers 24/7 until Trump gets some relief from the antics.

Does anyone still believe Obama is “in Tahiti?” Because there is an awful lot of action from his quarter.....PICS or it didn’t happen!

Left is path of least resistance...and one for which his daughter will advocate. The only thing keeping him right is his base...and if you turn a blind eye and keep telling him its okay to break promises to those who voted him in...the left side of the WH wins

It’s the only path to get anything through the rotten Congress if “conservatives” are intent on being arsonists.

Keep telling POTUS you don’t support him and you support those who damage his entire agenda and he will have no choice but chase RINOs and Dems to get bills passed. Conservatives will get nothing. Buy a clue before it’s too late.

I also think it’s dangerous to allow the democrats to rally and regroup.

It’s like the classic battle. When the other army retreats only a fool quits attacking — hound them, keep them confused, keep them in disarray, and destroy as much of their fighting ability and prestige as possible before they can regroup.

The only question is this: how best to destroy them?

‘The left’s strategy is to keep Trump so distracted with Russiagate and investigations that he can’t function.’

Absolutely — counter attack!

Yes, defend. Yes, build some strongholds. Yes build up logistics [the economy].

But attack, attack, attack!

When truth is on your side, put a dang team on the attack — make it their mission. And give them a little personal time each day.

‘But again, he’s after applause. That’s his morale compass.’

According to that theory Trump is a narcissistic simpleton. Which, I guess, explains why, the more he was SAVAGED for criticizing illegal invaders, the more he criticized them.

Why do you think no other candidate dared to mention the rapes and murders illegals commit? It’s because they like applause, as opposed to the blistering, scorching, relentless attacks Trump garnered for being politically incorrect.

‘LOL. He’s fighting about five nuclear wars at once.’

And he has the largest army of tax-funded ‘soldiers’ in the world. I just have to wonder about his chief of staff — is that man up to the job?

There were so many Wikileaks about so many things that I lost track a long time ago. Trump has already indicated he’s not interested in going after Hillary. Last I knew the Clinton Foundation was supposedly still being investigated by the FBI, but I’m skeptical about whether or not it’s actually happening. If it is, I presume Trump and Sessions are staying out of it until and unless Comey reports prosecutable wrongdoing discovered during their investigations.

Feel free to inform those of us who are less informed why we should be concerned about Powell and Teneo.

‘Two can — and should — play that game.’

The Dems are united (the DC Dems, anyway) and they own the MSM. Trump receives next to no support even from his own party.
