How Trump's presidency is succeeding
The San Francisco Chronicle ^ | March 27, 2017 | James Hohmann, The Washington Post

Reading some of the news coverage this weekend, one might get the impression that Donald Trump's failure to repeal the Affordable Care Act is akin to Woodrow Wilson not getting the League of Nations ratified. In other words, a fatal blow to his presidency. That's hooey.

Health care is a siren song that has seduced many presidents since Harry Truman called for a national insurance program in 1945. Bill Clinton, for instance, spent far more political capital on the issue than Trump during his first year as president. His party also controlled both chambers of Congress, and he too failed spectacularly. But Clinton bounced back and won reelection....

Woodand Wilson left a far more treacherous Legacy then any president before or until very recently. Woodrow Wilson and his Wilsonian Doctrine sowed the seeds which ultimately fostered the rise of Nazism, which led to the Second World War.

Woodrow Wilson’s name or legacy should always include this often neglected yet historically accurate fact.

Furthermore by the early 1920s it was a known and recognized by Academia that Kaiser Wilhelm’s Germany did not start World War 1 yet due to the Wilsonian doctrines Draconian laws pushed onto Germany which led to their complete financial devastation set the stage for a movement called National Socialism, more commonly known as Nazism and the rise of a charismatic Adolf Hitler who obtained and held the highest seat of government... the rest is an ugly history.

Never give credence to Woodrow Wilson and the spilled blood which resulted from his administration. The comparisons of that era and POTUS44 and cabinet level shenanigans is embryonic and may, without suitable intervention, result in terrible circumstances.

His tweet yesterday was directed at his most enthusiastic supporters.

Lucky for you, no one at FreeRepublic would confuse you as ever being a Trump supporter.

Everything you have listed as Trump's failures is in reality a failure of the congresscritters we have been voting in, for eight years, to solve those problems. Your pessimism also reflects the constant drumbeat of media negativity.

No president, in my memory since Eisenhower, has ever done so much so quickly in his first 66 Days. What congress can't or won't do he is doing by presidential directive. Congress, on the other hand is the polar opposite. No congress has done less for so long considering they have a majority.

Repealing obummer care? It is a matter of time and style but it is congress's job to legislate and Trump's job to sign the legislation. The house deal just plain sucked. They have had how many years to work on this and that is all they got??

Trump has already taken on immigration at the enforcement level and the entry visa level. The pinko judge's decisions haven't stopped him at all, just altered his approach. And the effect? Illegals being arrested, sanctuary cities being defunded, and incoming illegals drastically reduced. All of this without an iota of help from the congresscritters...again.

Once again, the senate must do the work on the supreme court nomination. The president only nominates the candidate. His SCOTUS nomination will be approved only if the senate republicans grow some hair and shut chuckie schumer down. He is like a boil on your butt. It won't go away on its own, it has to be drained like the swamp that congress has become.

We need more jobs, jobs, jobs in the oil and chemical sectors.

You don't know much about Shell do you?

If you would finish the minimum that Jim Robinson likes to see on home pages (location), I might be able to direct you to a bunch of openings.

>>His immigration bans struck down by activist judges, Obamacare repeal dead, his Supreme Court pick is stuck. So far, I’d say Trump is failing pretty bad.
<<

oozocare death is not on him (and it ain’t over)

SCOTUS will happen next week. That will fix #1.

In the meantime, EPA rollbacks continue, Keystone is green light, illegal immigrants are self-deporting in droves.

Get a little patience. It took 8 years to plant these mines, it will take time to defuse them.

Laz, have you been sharing your list with the SF Chronicle? The Chronicle seems to be tired of Trump winning.

>>Do the unemployed succeed in any Presidency?<<

(there is a point to this story).

My weekends are pretty much one TV show: Law and Order. One thing that I love about it is seeing how tecnology marches in across the 20 years it was on — from telephone booths and beepers to basic cell phones to PDAs and calling central records to green-screen computers to something resembling Google.

Also in that 20 year span — in damn near EVERY episode there is a mention of how awful the economy is. The refrain “in THIS economy?” is heard all over the place.

Go back to old Perry Masons — SAME THING!!

People say the economy is bad no matter how good it is!!!

The only proper measures are GDP growth and REAL (not imagined) unemployment. From those measures the obozo years were, indeed, the worst years since the immediate post-WW2 decade.

So this “instant wonderfulness — just add Trump and water” stuff is just plain stupid.

Why haven’t they filed to the 4th circuit already? They should be grinding this out in the media also. And why not drag House and Senate leader ship - along with the committee chairs - in for a closed door beating. He should tell them that he is going to stop blaming the dems and start blaming them. We control everything but are doing nothing.

The Vermin RATs and GOP Elites are digging their holes deeper and deeper. People I talk to are quite aware of their treason and motivations to stop President Trump any way that they can for self-serving reasons . The RATs and Elitists are against We The People and it shows by their actions.

Shell is merely fishing for resumes but is not hiring engineers. I have seen their ads and they contain nothing worthwhile. Got a valid address where engineers can send their resumes?

Agreed.

Yet, there appears to be a large contingent of hand-wringing nitpickers on FR that expected Trump to reverse the last eight years of Obama overnight.

As I posted on another thread: “Patience, grasshopper. Patience.”
