The Civil War is Here
Frontpage ^ | March 27, 2017 | Daniel Greenfield

A civil war has begun.

This civil war is very different than the last one. There are no cannons or cavalry charges. The left doesn’t want to secede. It wants to rule. Political conflicts become civil wars when one side refuses to accept the existing authority. The left has rejected all forms of authority that it doesn’t control.

The left has rejected the outcome of the last two presidential elections won by Republicans. It has rejected the judicial authority of the Supreme Court when it decisions don’t accord with its agenda. It rejects the legislative authority of Congress when it is not dominated by the left.

It rejected the Constitution so long ago that it hardly bears mentioning.

“The democratic system is totalitarianism. This nation never was a democracy. Democracy is a fancy way of saying mob rule.”

I really wish you would not play word games like this. You only distract from the very important points in the article. Democratic system is just another way of saying representative government or Republic.

You(and a few others) are unable or unwilling to understand and comment on the important points in the article. Instead you just keep repeating the attack on the use of one word: democratic.

America is a Republic. Everyone understands that. Democratic government is one in which the citizens are able to vote and participate.

America is not a direst democracy.

Everyone understands that.

Although I am prepared to cut President Trump a tremendous amount of slack (most of the time) because it seems virtually everyone is always against him, I think your comment at #58 is correct — Repeal was the proper first step, using the marketplace is the proper solution, and tying it all together with tax reform is the thing that makes it all work.

I’m not as optimistic as I was, but if Trump moves to tax reform and approaches this from that angle, he COULD still hit all those points, in a different order. I don’t know if he will try.

due to the abysmal education provided in public and some private schools, very few now know what the difference is between a democracy and a republic.

I was educating 20 to 30 year olds at work on this difference. It was new informaion for them.

“Read history from about 1852 through the start of the Civil War. Things now are not nearly as different as they seem on the surface.”

I am very familiar with the history of the Civil War.

That is one reason why I posted this.

There are many similarities between the Democrat Party today and the Democrat Party at the time of the Civil War.

The secession that caused the Civil War was the direct result of a plot in the Democrat Party to create a slave based economy ruled by a tiny elite.

In the 1850’s America was a one party state run by the Democrat Party. The Order of the Golden Circle was a Democrat Party organization pushing for secession. The Kansas Nebraska Act was a repeal of the Missouri Compromise that would create a slave based economy throughout the Midwest and the west.

The Republican Party was a new party when Lincoln won the presidency. Lincoln almost did not make it to Washington alive.

Democrat politicians in Baltimore with support of Democrats in Washington D.C. organized violent riots and tried to have Lincoln killed.

It was only the moral strength and resolve of the Republican Party that preserved the union and freed the slaves.

“The left never ever had the hold on the boomers like it has successive generations”

I agree with you that it is incorrect to try to define politics and attitudes generationally.

Most boomers were not leftists or liberals.

The leftists bragged that the were speaking for young people and the media continually repeated that falsehood.

You are right young people supported Nixon in 1972 despite the fact that the media continually attacked him and said young people should oppose him.

Boomers overwhelmingly supported Reagan also.

Young people today are subjected to constant leftist propaganda. Both at school and in the media and the culture they are fed leftist disinformation constantly.

But when they get a job they turn conservative.

Young people voting for Obama was a big reason why he got elected.

Part of this was the incompetent campaigns of McCain and Romney.

If McCain, Romney or Jeb had run in 2016, Hillary Clinton would be president now.

Since a majority of Republicans still support massive LEGAL immigration, I think violent civil conflict in the USA is inevitable within one or two decades.

You are an optimist.

Daniel Greenfield mentioned the libs switching to federal judges. To me, that is our number one problem.

I Googled federal judges and there are nearly 3,000 of them. If one judge can overrule Trumps travel ban, that gives him more power than Trump.

No single Senator or Congressman, or single SCOTUS Justice can make or change a law.

We have a problem with immigration. Half of the kids in school are children of immigrants and one third of those kids are born to illegal immigrants. They come from Marxist, Socialist and Muslim countries and bring those ideologies with them.

44 percent of Californian’s speak languages other than English at home.

In the 1970s the California courts ordered forced bussing on our school children in Los Angeles. That changed the demographics of Los Angeles as people fled the city and they were replaced with illegal aliens.

In 1977, California’s people voted for a law to deny government assistance to illegal aliens. One federal judge overturned that law. Just one judge.

Judges and courts have overturned or made law on voter ID, protecting illegal aliens, giving them housing and monetary assistance. Judges and courts have impacted our families, religion, gun ownership, our land rights and way of living. Just about everything.

But no one is promoting the reigning in of those nearly 3,000 rogue federal judges.

Prosecute a few on the left for their crimes against the country where they do not ‘protect and defend’ the Constitution and things will change. If a kid is never punished for stealing from the cookie jar, he will continue to steal from the cookie jar.

Ask yourself why we have social security numbers.

I think most of us here know the answer to that too.

Let CA secede, that will relieve the political pressure for at least a century. Secession is the answer. No war needed.
