White House Opens Door to Democrats in Wake of Health-Bill Failure
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 03/26/2017 | SIOBHAN HUGHES

Posted on 03/26/2017 5:56:40 PM PDT by Toaster tank

Days after the House GOP health bill collapsed due to a lack of support from Republicans, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus brought up the idea of working with Democrats multiple times, leaving little doubt that the White House intended to send a message to the hard-line Republican flank.

You mean by quoting his Chief of Staff? Some folks here really make me laugh. They REALLY think President Trump is a conservative. And anything at all that challenges that narrative makes them scream “fake news”.

I am not saying who is at fault, because in the scheme of things it won’t matter. Because if Obamacare is not repealed by the end of this year[2017], the Democrat Party will regain control of Congress when the Mid Term elections are over. And in 2021 A Democrat will occupy the White House. Why and how will they be able to do that? Because most Conservatives will once more stay home. We have just been shown, once again, by the Republican Party Establishment that our votes don’t mean crap. Their message to Conservatives is the same as it has always been. To Wit} Vote for us, then go away and keep your damn mouth shut. But, like the abused wife we always tuck our tails between our legs and slink back at election time. However, even an abused wife has limits to abuse they will take. If the Republicans do not repeal Obamacare by December 31, 2017 this wife has reached the abuse limit. Their call.

Want to know what’s “Populist” as the great outdoors and would get far more than 17 percent support?

A public option in Obamacare.

I fully believe that all Trump wants on healthcare is a Rose Garden ceremony and to never speak of it again.

The public option is going to happen at some point in the next four years. And when it does, half of Free Republic will support it.

You know it. I know it. Everyone knows it.

Trump is going to agree to a public option in Obamacare at some point in this term. And half of Free Republic will throw roses at his feet for it.

“He’s checkmated the Democrats! They’ll never win in Michigan again! 4-D chess!!”

With half of Americans on either Medicare or Medicaid, we already have a public option.

My half-serious prediction is that the Trump plan will involve two things:

1. The Medicare eligibility age is reduced to 50.

2. Individual and group plans will be required to cover the adult children of the insured until they are 49.

All done. Let's move on to the next item on the agenda.

You posted: Again, you people bitching about Trump but yet you eagerly supported him. I knew that Trump represented a paradigm shift; meaning that ACU ratings and the old left vs right dichotomy set up by the media/Uniparty to advance the overall globalist agenda is dead. I have no problem with him courting Dems to get his agenda passed.”

Early last year, I posted about this paradigm shift. Since then Trump won the election and became president. Now we are starting to see what I predicted re the end of the so called conservatives and the ultra liberals. Below is what I was posting early last year.

Goldberg like his fellow NRwalk on water conservatives will be unemployed after President Trump is sworn in next year.

The RNC/GOPe/Neocon Uniparty elite thugs have been the overseers of the Faux Conservative plantations since 1961. These overseers keep trying to trick/betray/control us to stay on/in their faux conservative plantations by selecting their ilk/puppets as our candidates. They lie and promise us conservatism. Then, when elected they $crew us daily in congress and as POTUS! NR and their handpicked tv/radio hosts have pushed their lies for decades.

In NH, SC, FL and Nevada primaries, Trump and his voters ignored them. His voters then voted big time for Trump. They won bigtime and broke the rules of the plantation masters by voting for Trump in NH. This is scaring the hell out of our former neocon RNC/GOPe masters of the faux conservative plantations and their ilk, the Club for Growth.

It is wonderful to see this decades old, long standing corrupt political system disintegrating right before our eyes. This corrupted system hates working Americans. It rewards illegals and those who bring them into America to freeload off the American workers slaving in the faux conservative plantation.

We are seeing a paradigm shift with us selecting our Presidential Candidate, instead of the RNC/GOPe/Uniparty elites, who hate us, selecting our candidates.

There is a Black Swan event occurring with the daily suicidal self wrought destruction of the RNC/GOPe, UniParty, Open Border Thugs, DC faux pundits, Faux News, ABCNNBCBS, NT and the left wing fish wraps. Something similar may be happening with the DEMes.

Many of us are looking forward to seeing the broken bones, drying blood and entrails of the Lying RNC/GOP Open Borders Elite, The Club for Growth, the UniParty, their DC faux conservative pundits, their mediots, their phoney pollsters and focus groups, Faux, ABCNNBCBS, their hired tv and radio hacks strewn across the primary states as much as our victories in those states.

We have escaped from their faux conservative plantations. We are not going back for more lies, abuse and mistreatment from our former RNC/GOPe masters.

We will vote for Trump and destroy them! Adios!

Thanks. That’s my take as well.

Shame to see too, because I used to have a lot of respect for the WSJ.

If the RATs take congress and the Presdency, we will get more
Obamacare entitlements, not less.

It seems like an unstoppable cycle.

3. Modify the tax code so both employees and the self-employed are treated equally.

I think there is a good chance there’s something to this. He trashed the FC in a tweet this morning. He seems to blame them not Ryan’s crappy bill. I won’t be surprised if makes the bill even worse and to try get some Rats on board. And the Rats will be given credit for saving the day. I had big problems with this bill but it needed to pass the House l am very pessimistic at this point.

Thanks for the mention.

I am highly suspect of Priebus. You may have seen me say some stuff on other threads (perhaps even this one).

Here, I agree with his admonishment.

So he's going to take the initiative on healthcare reform and get wayward Dems and RINOs on board.

Maybe so, but going out on a limb to support a half-assed bill cobbled together by the House leadership is hardly a case of "taking the initiative" at all.

Trump’s tax plan is similar to Reagan’s. Reaganese some have said. Reagan had to work with Dems since they owned the House under O’Neill. Reagan still got his through, although a different time, but he still convinced enough Dems to vote for his tax plan. If Trump can pull a few Dems away without making any real concessions that’s good. Although I don’t expect he will get many more than you can count the number of fingers on one hand. BTW, a FReeper told me the House and Mean’s Committee chair Brady’s tax plan is similar to Trump’s with a difference being cooperate tax cuts. Trump give a better deal reducing them to 15% tax rate.

:) The WSJ the article is behind a pay wall. I wouldn't give them two cents to see any more of it.

That we will. Remember how they, the Democrats, got control of Congress from 2006 until 2010? Republicans spending like drunken sailors. Conservatives repeatedly warned them and the warnings were ignored. 2006 and 2008 many Conservatives stayed home on election day. Right or wrong, the voters will hold President Trump responsible for not repealing Obamacare because he promised that he would.

You may be able to copy the title. Google it. When the listing comes up, click.

This has been working for me with certain periodicals. You slip right past the paywall.

It may work with the WSJ as well. I don’t know for sure.
