Bull Flop. We have a great constitution that no one follows.
Jefferson said we should have a revolution every twenty years. Lets have that revolution...bloodless or otherwise to re establish our near perfect document.
Nothing wrong with the US Constitution other than the fact that it is ignored by both parties.
The battle needs to be to stick the politician’s noses into the truth of originalist observance. Not by lawyers. We’ll hang those later
The founders put Article V in the Constitution to deal with just the situation we have today. Short of a hot revolution, this is the last sane step that can be pursued by patriotic Americans before nullification, secession or civil war.
The Article V Convention of states and the suggested Amendments by Mark Levin seem to be the only bloodless way to right the ship of state, specifically the following eleven amendments:
Impose Congressional term limits
Repeal the Seventeenth Amendment, returning the election of Senators to state legislatures
Impose term limits for Supreme Court Justices and restrict judicial review
Require a balanced budget and limit federal spending and taxation
Define a deadline to file taxes (one day before the next federal election)
Subject federal departments and bureaucratic regulations to periodic reauthorization and review
Create a more specific definition of the Commerce Clause Limit eminent domain powers
Allow states to more easily amend the Constitution by bypassing Congress
Create a process where two-thirds of the states can nullify federal laws
Require photo ID to vote and limit early voting
In reality, the Beltway is not going to pass the above needed amendments nor honor the constitution until new people and a new mindset is there. Term limits would change the D.C. climate in a hurry. The only bloodless avenue for this is an Article V Convention of States.
