Alaska Ping
Good to see the Senate tackling the tough issues before taking their six week Easter recess
See how important voting is. Without a Republican majority people in Alaska wouldn’t be able to shoot wolves from a Copter.
Sounds good! The big Bear monsters are all over up here! New recipes are always welcome!
Is this an attack on Sarah Palin?
I bought a lifetime bag of bay leaves at a market, cheaper than the bottle of 10 or whatever leaves at the grocery store.
The bill was for controlled hunting, to lower the population or remove dangerous specimens. I looked it up when Facebook blew up over it earlier this week.
Bear is good until you’ve eaten just so much of it, for me it took a total of two bears and the wrong kind of barbeque sauce that just brought out the bear flavor instead of covering it. Up until then I was good with all the bear chili, and even some of the steaks with just onions and salt.
Since then I save my bear rounds for the ones who might want to put me in a recipe of their own.
Although if grizzlies are delisted in the lower 48, which is inevitable based on the talk from some state wildlife officials.
What does bear taste like? Does it taste like beef or pork? If they eat a lot of fish, do they taste fishy?
We can’t fix healthcare or taxes, but hey, lets go shoot some bears !
Was in Priest Lake Idaho staying at a Log resort there/
Talked to the maintenance man there about hunting.
He said he was a bow hunter.
I asked what he targeted.
Griz he said.
I said soooo you take your compound bow and what a Desert Eagle on your side?
He said, No. During bow season you can hunt with a Bow, No firearms.
Real big cajones.
Actually, the Senate does not specifically “authorize” anything other the rules regarding hunting in the Alaska Wildlife Refuge revert to what they were until less than a year ago (when Obama dictated new rules for the area).
They, by the Senate bill, revert to as they were - under the control of the state of Alaska. It was and returns to what the state of Alaska “authorizes”, and could if they chose authorize differently.
Those who don’t like the rules should be complaining to the state legislators in Alaska and not complaining about the senate restoring Alaskan’s right to make their own rules.
