Actually, the Senate does not specifically “authorize” anything other the rules regarding hunting in the Alaska Wildlife Refuge revert to what they were until less than a year ago (when Obama dictated new rules for the area).

They, by the Senate bill, revert to as they were - under the control of the state of Alaska. It was and returns to what the state of Alaska “authorizes”, and could if they chose authorize differently.

Those who don’t like the rules should be complaining to the state legislators in Alaska and not complaining about the senate restoring Alaskan’s right to make their own rules.

The story is total BS. Shooting wolves and bears from a helicopter will not be illegal. It just allows you to hunt the same day your flight lands, which may mean you possibly will spot one from the air. Once again, a liberal magazine (Time) lies.

There probably isn’t a journalist who wrote about the travesty of this law that has ever seen a grizzly or brown bear in the wild, or ever been in a fly-in camp in Alaska.

I have been there and done that. The current law, just means you fly in, if you see a bear, you can’t follow it till the morning, you don’t shoot from aircraft, under current law or what the Senate voted on.

I had to YouTube that one... disturbing lips to say the least.

But to answer your question, no. That name was given to me years ago when I was a member of a hotshot Diesel-Billy Band and everyone had a moniker. It sort of stuck.

A California author and filmmaker who became famous for trekking to Alaska’s remote Katmai coast to commune with brown bears has fallen victim to the teeth and claws of the wild animals he loved.

...The fearless former drug addict from Malibu, Calif. — who routinely eased up close to bears to chant “I love you’’ in a high-pitched, sing-song voice —
