The strategy was all wrong on this. The should have constructed a bill and sent it to the senate. If the senate couldn’t pass it it would have been on Chuck Shummers back. It was dumb and Ryan couldn’t plan his way out of a paper bag.
He’s a loser but he is going to have to be propped up because it’s not a fight we can face at this time. If he flubs the tax cut he should be sent to the back bench. Newt should be brought in to school him.
Schumer would filibuster and nothing would get done until after 2018 at the bare minimum.
Which is looking likely anyway.
