Justice minister Simonetta Sommaruga has said Switzerlands membership of Schengen is vital in the fight against international terrorism and that those who seek to end the Schengen agreement are irresponsible.
Sommaruga was speaking in an interview with Blick following the terror attack outside the Houses of Parliament in London on Wednesday. [ ]
Though Switzerland is not in the European Union, since 2008 it has been a member of the Schengen zone, which allows people to move freely between its 26 member countries without a passport. [ ]
Without Schengen, we would be less protected from terror. We would not get any important information, she said, adding that those who seek to terminate the agreement are irresponsible.

Schengen is great in a time of peace. So are open borders.
Now is not that time.
The Communists are further reproached for desiring to abolish countries and nationality. When politicians insist on open borders, they only have one thing on their minds. Borders are Biblical, remember.
Sort of the same as saying prisoners would be more likely to stay in their cells if we eliminated bars and guards.
In what universe is a country safer when it doesn’t control its own borders?
The minister’s statements prove the utter imbecility of EU libtards. You have to be part of the Schengen open borders fiasco to get adequate security information sharing and cooperation????!!!?? That is a perfect travesty. The countries should be sharing the relevant info without the need to be part of the open borders b.s.
“Oh, we can only get security information sharing within the EU if we agree to live with no borders, wide open borders!” What stupidity....
Free movement of extremist muslims across borders will lead to less terror. Up is down. The woman is a total airhead.
