I voted for jobs. Repeal would have helped but it isn't the biggest factor. Also he has time to try again, although the legislative system will be a bigger challenge.
Move on to tax reform, corporate tax reform, and regulation reform
that will help EVERYONE !
Next to onerous regulations, I'd say it is indeed one of the largest contributing factors. Trump's legacy will be jobs, for certain, but that's likely going to be it. I won't be voting for him, or any other worthless, filthy, lying, backstabbing, traitorous, rotten, disgusting, dirty low down piece of sh*t republican ever. Not one vote, not for any reason.
Why? Trump has been neutered by his own party. The leftists will continue to get whatever they want.
In my opinion, the three steps planned for the Obamacare replacement, was a reasonable idea. If each step was well conceived and set up a marketplace system, instead of a big government bureaucracy, we would have had something. Removing the tentacles of Obamacare required three separate operations with the goal of lowering healthcare costs. Having it done in one step may have been too much at one time. They may not have had the other steps worked out yet and were building as things got figured out.
So how do you feel about democrats?!
I’ve noticed that just about every leftist (and many of the ‘rightist’) news source is now calling this a ‘repeal’ bill.
If only it were, rather than a mere RINO bill rearranging some of the deck chairs on the Titanic.
In theory.
Problem is..we don’t have the type of people in leadership in the House and Senate that we can trust.
Ryan Must Go!
It's not a good start, but I would be surprised if Trump gave up at this point. He's faced a lot of adversity and kept going before.
Add subhuman to the previous...
I would never say impossible with the talent in this country.
I agree. He has no other choice but to go forward. He's got several more years. Unfortunately, that won't change the fact that he lost this, bigly, and he did so because he supported a bad bill. He did so because he didn't look at them a month ago and say, "You guys repealed this nonsense 50 TIMES (!!!!!) in the last 6 years, now you bring me this?"
Of course he'll proceed, but it'll be in a neutered fashion.
The media/Democrat (redundant, I know) narrative is firmly in place:
"Trump Fails at Biggest Deal Of His Life"
"More Chaos From The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight"
"Is Anybody In Charge Here?"
Today was like Christmas for the left.
No president is neutered if they have the power of the EO, the veto pen, and recess appointments.
His first remark was “I learned a lot about loyalty”. That wasn’t aimed at Democrats or Ryan. It was aimed at those Pubs who gave Pelosi a victory and Trump a defeat.
I don’t look at this as a ‘major defeat’ for the President.
My opinion of and my trust in the President remains in tact.
Focus on economy. Gotta get out of this under 2% GDP rut for the last 8 yrs.
I agree. There are other battles. The problem is, the GOP voted FIFTY EFFING TIMES (!!!!!!!!!!!) to repeal while obunghole was in office. Now, NOW, ALL OF A SUDDEN...they can't send Trump the SAME DAMNED THING they sent obama??? I think not. I see clearly. We are being played. Hard. I don't like that, one bit.
This was a Republican screw up. Put the blame where it belongs.
They threw a hasty and poorly written bill together solely so they could vote repeal on the anniversary of Obamacare's passage. They should have taken their time, worked with their entire caucus to negotiate a bill everyone could live with, and then voted on it. Instead they flew by the seat of their pants, made promises that alienated as many Republicans as they were meant to attract, and saw it all blow up in their face. All the Democrats did in all this was sit back and watch Ryan and his people implode.
