A MASSIVE offensive to seize ISIS capital in Syria is set to begin within days with Coalition forces vowing to rid the world of the scourge that is ISIS.
French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said the battle to recapture Raqqa from the evil terror clan was likely to start in the coming day after Coalition forces encircled the city.
It comes just two days after ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack in Westminster in which four people were murdered by maniac Khalid Masood.
And US-backed forces are reported to be trying to capture Karama, a major village east of Raqqa, today, clashing with enemy fighters on the ground with cover from airstrikes and artillery.
Le Drian told TV channel CNews: France has always said that Raqqa was a major objective.
Today, one can say that Raqqa is encircled, that the battle for Raqqa will start in the coming days.
It will be a very hard battle, but a battle that is going to be of utmost importance.

Kill them all. Take no prisoners.
They may be able to rid the world of the scourge that is ISIS ... in Raqqa. Temporarily.
But we cannot hold it. Not unless we are committed to stay there for centuries and keep the peace between Muslims.
And we’d have to do the same for every other hell-hole city throughout the MENA. Which means we’d have to station our men throughout a vast region just to BABYSIT all the various sects and factions for hundreds of years.
So, yeah team.
Hey, here’s a thought. Let’s tell ISIS we are coming for them so they can prepare to destroy Raqqa and kill as many as they could before escaping dressed as goats.
Actually I think you are wrong. I believe the Kurds and SDF will handle that one. The issue is the deal with Assad in Damascus.
As Long as Turkey is rogue like he currently is, the US and Russia will need to be there. At some point. We will probably withdraw to Iraq. But the battle is not over yet. At one point the number of of ISIS was estimated at 10,000 in Raqqa. Not sure how many left now. We have had B-52 raids, A-10 assaults, Apache helicopter attacks and other bombing raids.
The target they captured around the dam above the city of Raqqa was no small target. It had command center, training facility, and prison. As well as a town. It is totally in Coalition hands now. (that was blurred in reporting for a while)
“Actually I think you are wrong. I believe the Kurds and SDF will handle that one. The issue is the deal with Assad in Damascus.”
Why would we want to remove Assad? Our covert strategy to remove him with a Syrian spring movement was what started this whole damned thing.
Our nutty generals are obsessed with removing him and will try to leverage the attack on ISIS to do exactly that.
I never said anything about removing Assad. I said make a deal with him. The deal for the new constitution and the structure of the relationship between Damascus and the Rojava region.
All you said about what caused this is absolutely true.
I believe the Russians have enough clout with Assad to make the deal good for both Kurds and Assad. I cannot judge how this will play out, but sure want the Kurds to have a shot at freedom. As much as is possible. I think that will be good for the region too.
