Exclusive – House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer: GOP Congressmen Lose Whether AHCA Passes or Fails
Breitbart ^

Posted on 03/24/2017 8:46:46 AM PDT by detective

The No. 2 House Democrat told Breitbart News late Thursday House Republicans will suffer at the polls no matter how they vote for the American Health Care Act, the health insurance industry rescue program crafted by Speaker Paul Ryan (R.-WI).

“The Republican Party has a bad product and they ought to go back to the drawing board, but I doubt they are going to do that,” said Rep. Steny Hoyer (D.-MD), who as the Minority Whip is junior only to Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D.-CA) among House Democrats.

“In my opinion, their members will lose politically, whether it passes or fails,” he said.

Is Hoyer right?

Will Ryancare be a disaster for Republicans?

Democrats seem very confident. Republicans seem confused.

The name Hoyer is a bastardization of the indian word Hoya, which translates into animal excrement in English.

“Republicans seem confused. “

That’s the problem. They are always confused because a great many of them have few morals. (Not to be compared to democrats, who have NO morals whatsoever.)

I am saddened to think that the only way out of this mess will be a very non peaceful revolution.

Either we or the libs will have to go.

If it fails it’s a short term - and purely political - loss. If it passes it’s likely a long term policy loss. Give Obama care another year. Play chicken with the dems. They all know status quo is not sustainable. Something bipartisan has to get passed and only the fear of 2018 elections with nothing having been done will bring both sides to the table.

So that is what our representatives in Washington have become. They are more concerned about what the polls say than doing what is right and good for the citizens of this once great nation.

This swamp will never be drained...

The whole way this has been approached has been wrong. Everyone should have been involved in this, senate and house. The problems should have been laid out and the problems resolved. I think the insurance companies should have been asked what moves would bring down premium costs the quickest.

Steny the "stooge"

Think about it... he's saying whether it passes or not the Republicans lose.

Really?... A "stooge" attempting to sell an incoherent argument.

Ryancare was designed to be a disaster.
It is not repeal at all.
It is a rearranging of Obamacare to benefit insurance companies.

It’s shocking that Hoyer would say that. I’d like to hear his views on what the GOP could do to be a big winner. According to Hoyer, the GOP is always a loser no matter what it does.

This swamp will never be drained...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is up to us to drain Congress of the swamp creatures.
If more districts did what mine did and Cantorized their weasels and elected honorable men like Dave Brat we would be in a much better position.
There is ONE thing that I admire about the Democrats. ONLY ONE
They stick together and fight hard.
Republicans are a bunch of pantywaisted losers. And sellouts. Not all. But a lot.
The No. 2 House Democrat told Breitbart News late Thursday House Republicans will suffer at the polls no matter how they vote for the American Health Care Act, the health insurance industry rescue program crafted by Speaker Paul Ryan (R.-WI).
But what Steny Hoyer said is always true for any legislation. There are those who support the law and those in the same party who do not support the law. There are always people in the same party who are for and against any given law, with appropriate consequences in their own districts. So what?
Let's talk about the weather.
I wish Trump would just call the Republicans bluff and say, bring the full repeal bill like you did the first 5 times during Obama’s presidency, in which he vetoed. Watch the Republicans scurry and hide....
I asked if Hoyer was right.
Tell me why Hoyer is wrong.
I think it is better than Obamacare but it has the same major structural defect that is inherent in Obamacare. That is much like Obamacare most of its insureds will be preexisting health risks that will initially be charged premiums that do not reflect the reality of the substandard risk pool and after a few years of raising premiums insurers will flee the program or premiums will be prohibitive.
Of course you could also say that about Satan’s minions but guess that would be redundant.
