“Conservatives” are the ones who went off the Reservation here. If Ryan implodes, the most “conservative” choice would probably be Meadows who has been in open warfare with Trump for the last week, and who Trump is blaming on Twitter for PP still getting funding for abortions.
If Ryan goes, you need to replace him with a Populist Nationalist so at least the House and White House are aligned politically.
But I don’t know who that would be.
In all honesty, I think Trump would be happier with Pelosi and Schumer in charge, because then he could “make deals.”
Do you honestly think that if Pelosi went to Trump and said, 1. lower Medicare to 59 and dramatically expand Medicaid funding and then Legalize all the Dreamers..... and we will scrap the ACA, give you your wall, AND give you your infrastructure bill, he says no?
I honestly think this is where we are heading. Pelosi and Schumer are going to cut the ultimate deal with Trump within the next year on everything.
As long as Paul Ryan is in charge of the House, Trump will not accomplish anything unless.....Paul Ryan can look like the hero.
Maybe if Ryan pisses off the Dems also, will there be enough bipartisen hate in Congress to ruin him.
I don’t see Trump making deals with the dems. I hope not. You know....I thought that nuking the filibuster was priority 1 but now I see......Nuking Ryan is priority ONE.
