Democratic assemblywoman Deborah Glick of the New York State Assembly has introduced legislation that would fine people who do not vote, and has been promptly criticized on the constitutionality of the measure.
Glick's legislation proposes a $10 fine for those who fail to vote without providing a "valid excuse," but she does not specify what a valid excuse would be, the New York Daily News reports.

Well first you’d have to register them and then find out if they’re eligible to vote; but then, haven’t the Democrats yelled about having to register people to vote? It was supposed to suppress the minorities and the old people.
How about "I didn't vote because I was afraid I might vote Republican."

If they aren’t at all interested, not at all informed, they should not be voting anyway.
And, said Glick, “I will go a step further and say not only should you be fined for not voting, but fined or jailed for not voting for the right candidate, whom a committee will decide.” Glick followed her statement with a diabolical laugh.

If people do not want to vote, they should not be forced to vote.
This also takes away your “vote” to reject a crop of idiotic candidates, and not vote for anyone you actually want to vote for.

The poor will suffer most. And of course women and children next. Mothers will have to leave their children unattended to go to the polls. Democrats will have to miss Oprah and a very small percentage who have jobs will have to miss work, leaving McDonalds in a lurch.

The nation already has far too many uninformed, misinformed, dis-interested and anti-American people who shouldn’t vote but do all for the wrong reason.
“Get out the vote” efforts that drag these kinds of people to the polls are a dis-service to America.

I want to impose a fine on Democrats for being Treasonous retards.
This would be a good idea if and only if there are places on the ballot for “none of the above” or some such. Usually, people who do not vote do not care anyway.
In a sane state, that very proposal would be considered grounds for impeachment and removal. This fugly slatch is Exhibit “A” of what’s wrong with the left.
