Bidding has begun for Trump's border wall
CBS News ^ | March 20, 2017 | AP

The Trump administration wants to build a 30-foot-high border wall that looks good from the north side and is difficult to climb or cut through, according to a pair of contract notices posted to a government website further detailing President Donald Trump’s promise to build a “big, beautiful wall” at the Mexican border.

The notices were made public late Friday by Customs and Border Protection, the Homeland Security Department agency that will oversee the project and eventually patrol and maintain the wall. The proposals are due to the government by March 29.

There will be a bunch of lawsuits to liberal courts to block it.

30 feet isnt marginal. But 40 feet would be even less marginal.

Of course it you put hard concrete on our side it makes a guarantee somethig is going to be damaged.

Technically, it’s not Trump’s border wall, it just that the Secure Fence Act of 2006, is being implemented.

Thank you Senators: Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Tom Harkin, Barbara Boxer, Dick Durbin, Chuck Grassley and others, for being 1 of the 80 US Senators, who passed this in the US Senate, which has been law, for over 10 years.

Blum BFF, Ron Tudor of Tudor Perini will be front and center on the bid list, Peter Kiewit Sons Co. would be a much better choice.

Never fell, during countless chases to catch runaway kites. We did not jump from 27 feet. We used the drain pipe to climb down by grabbing it and sliding down all the way.

My point was, 27’ was not intimidating. 37’ was, even for at early teenage.

Nice picture of wall. That wire fence on top DOES add to difficulty of climbing over. May be a 30’ foot wall with 4 to 5’ tall barbed wire fence on top will do the job.

The wall is a force multiplier and is not going to keep illegals from crossing the border by itself. It’s purpose is a deterrent and to slow egress down so the BP can arrest them. Any unmanned wall is useless.

Absolutely...building the wall is just the first step, to be followed by manual & electronic surveillance of the entire border, followed by removing incentives to hire cheap illegal immigrant labor.

But do not forget that majority of illegals arriveon jet planes and overstay their visa.

I used to jump off the roof of the chickenhouse, about 12 feet. Learned how to land without hurting myself (like a paratrooper’s training)

Good thing my mom didn’t see me doing it.

What I really miss now at my age in 70’s is the complete lack of fear of heights I had in my early teen years. Then I would climb onto steep metal roofs 4 story’s high to capture a runaway kite. There was absolute lack of fear because I am guessing I had supreme confidence in my balance and athletic ability. Now I get sweaty palms looking down from my 3rd floor balcony with 36” high strong guard rails!
