My brother, who grew apples in WA for a while, told me of cases where food safety rules prohibited a farmer from letting his dog into the orchard. Prohibited smoking. Smoke outside the orchard, then wash you hands before re-entering.

Yeah. It gets dumb. But, they haven’t figured out how to keep the deer and gophers from doing it in the orchards. When that happens, all is lost.
