McConnell vows Senate will take up ObamaCare repeal next week

Top Senate Republicans said Tuesday that they want to pass legislation to repeal and replace ObamaCare next week, despite deep divisions over the House bill.

"We will reach a conclusion on healthcare next week because we're going to Judge Gorsuch the week after that," Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told reporters, asked if he thought the current timeline is realistic. "We'll try to move it across the floor next week."

House Republican leaders are struggling to win support for their legislation repealing ObamaCare ahead of a vote scheduled for Thursday. Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), the leader of the House Freedom Caucus, said Tuesday that his caucus has the votes to block the House repeal and replacement bill.

In the Senate, six Republicans have announced opposition to the bill, which faces an uphill climb to get to 51 votes.

Because the legislation is being considered under special budgetary rules, it cannot be filibustered.

Folks, the Republican Party is screwing us again.

And President Trump appears to be one of their Cheerleaders.

This is enough to make a reformed drunk buy a bottle of whiskey and drink til he pukes.

All they are doing with this bill is ensuring a different set of donors get paid, and contribute to GOP.

And, to cowardly walk away from the challenge of “preexisting conditions” and “20 million will lose healthcare”.

..... Republicans really need to realize that if they pass RINOcare .... The minute Democrats get a hold of it it will incrementally be restored right back ObamaCare!

.... It's a sly trick Libs always use when negotiating with Republicans and the GOP falls for this almost every time and Democrats and the Useful Idiot RINO's know this.

... That is why they are trying to maintain as much of the structure of the ACA as possible.

..... REPUBLICANS .... WAKE UP!!!!

"We will reach a conclusion on healthcare next week because we're going to Judge Gorsuch the week after that,"

Sounds like RINO McConnell wants to bundle RINOcare and the conservative SC judge, Judge Gorsuch.

McConnell should have pushed through Gorsuch first, before RINOcare. But apparently he didn't want to.

Lyin’ Ryan and Turtle Face Mitch Mitch McDumbo are the problem; they are standing, proud members of the swamp, and President Trump will hopefully see this.

Sorry this seems to be a good approach.

We do not want as a country, Obamacare. But we also do not want as a country, the MESS we had before Obamacare.

Both were terrible.

What we need, is for Trump to stand up for what he promised, and to fix this huge mess.

That is what we need.

Not either of the two messes we’ve had. We need a new approach.

Something which covers everyone. And something which keeps the free system we had also.

We need both of those.

Not one, or the other. Both.

He’s too smart to be fooled by them.

Maybe he’s made a deal of benefit, but we need to see it to be on board.

It must be over the budget and taxes. I’m guessing that’s his principal domestic objective.

But Ryan and Mitch will screw him and never deliver their end of the bargain.

I hear what you’re saying, but I cannot believe Trump can be this naïve?

I just don’t see a good outcome to this.

Trump’s not a politician. Snake Ryan tells him this is the only way repeal can get done, paints it as repeal and Trump believed him.

We sent an outsider into the swamp, he’s got to learn some survival skills.

No. Absolutely not. I had acceptable healthcare before Obamacare. I was satisfied with my insurance plan. I paid for the whole thing out of my own pocket. My deductible was manageable. Yes, health care costs were then and still are getting far too high but breaking up federal control of prices is a completely and entirely different issue than THIS. THIS is about socialized government health care and insurance. Are we still conservatives around here or WHAT? If you want FEDERAL guaranteed health care you are not a social or fiscal conservative. Sorry. You aren't. That is not a justifiable function of the federal government. Those are chains of slavery and tyranny. There are other ways of doing this that don't require federal involvement in health insurance. Health charity can be handled other ways. Government is not God nor does it owe everyone health insurance. Hospitals used to be charities. They operated not-for-profit. Yeah. Find a hospital now that isn't for-profit? I'm reminded of a quote by Samuel Adams: “If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams And this one: “It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.” ― Samuel Adams
