Heya LUV W...thanks for starting the thread!

For spring...nothing says it to me like daffodils, closely followed by Robins!

My wife and I went to Nantucket for part of our honeymoon, and it was daffodil time out there! Just beautiful...so many years ago, she has a picture of me, wearing a long Navy bridge coat, laying by the side of the road in a huge patch of daffodils! Brisk and crisp...even now, as I type this, I can remember lying on my side on that cool spring day in that small sea of yellow...the wonderful smell of yellow, somehow, of new life. The smell of daffodils, like the smell of a buttercup held under the chin, that smell, but stronger when you are enveloped by it.

THAT’S spring to me.

Just today, I saw two robins. Very large muscular ones, likely two males. They are pretty territorial, and get fairly aggressive. The two were competing for a small dwarf tree of some kind on a patch of green grass in front of where I work. Today was a beautiful sunny New England day, and the snow was melting off the roof of my trailer. When I saw those two Robins, it lifted my heart.

As sure as anything, two aggressive male robins fighting to compete for the chance to be part of a nest filled with those beautiful, delicate blue eggs...THAT means spring!

Boy, do I love Spring. Then Autumn. Then Summer, and last, Winter. And Winter, though last, has charms of its own. I lay in my hammock during the last snowstorm, the heater in my shed making it nice and toasty, watching it come down, the wind whipping the snow horizontally through the air...that was a beautiful thing. I felt safe and secure.

And now it’s Spring! Woo hoo!

You are a true nature lover! We don’t get many robins here in the Texas desert, but they can lift a heart for sure. I already have daffodils and narcissi blooming...and rose buds! Yay, spring.

Although our temps are a bit warmer than I prefer for March, it’s all good!
