You can’t possibly missed that there is in fact a corps of purity police on the FR. See how they went after Tami Lahren.

I haven't read every freeper opinion on Tami Lahren, mostly because I don't care about her, but her embrace of abortion deserves scorn and ridicule. Additionally, if she will do a 180 on abortion views, it puts into question whether she really holds ANY conservative view strongly. But, regardless, I would support any conservative statement she made or conservative-promoting work that she did, and would continue to disagree with any left-leaning thing she might say or do. You owe loyalty to the ideas and the actions, not the person.

I was surprised to hear Roseanne Barr is a stripe of conservative.

I don't think she is. Roseanne ran for president for the left-wing Peace and Freedom Party with Cindy Sheehan as her VP candidate in 2012.

But she likes to stir things up and she sees Donald Trump as somebody else who stirs things up. She doesn't like Establishment Hillary. She's got a populist streak. Maybe she's like Camille Paglia, but with more kookiness.

During the 2016 campaign, she endorsed Trump in a way, then said she didn't, then she more or less did. She's one of those celebs who says all kinds of stuff and sometimes gets it right.

I don't watch or listen to any mainstream media sources. It was very difficult for me to understand the drumbeat I could hear coming from all of them (all the more because I didn't observe it directly, instead I gauged it through the reaction of the piece of society I could observe.

I knew immediately that the narrative being pushed was complete rubbish, that of the "gentle giant" shot out of hand by cruel police with nothing better to do.

I just had trouble understanding how people bought unquestioningly into that.

I understand now that that was the narrative that the Left wanted. They wanted it.

I know nothing about Roseanne Barr except for some memories from the Eighties sometime...I realize I just can't keep track of it all. (My wife knows I secretly enjoy the curmudgeon role to a degree-I walked by the television one night and there was a woman with a foreign look to her, darkish skin tones, dark hair. I paused as I walked by, and asked my wife who she was. My wife rolled her eyes, and said "It's Kim Kardashian. You know who she is, don't you?"

Her former husband, Tom Arnold, has a problem with President Trump, but Roseanne has always been aboard the Trump train.

no she just has an opinion that is just as valid as anyone posting on free republic....my problem with Hollywood is not that they are liberal it is there belief that they are better informed then those who disagree with them. everyone should be allowed to voice an opinion but not everyone should be listened to.

Now that I know one Roseanne's politics are pretty reasonable, I'll never confuse them again. :-)
