Chuck Schumer: Senate Shouldn’t Vote On Neil Gorsuch While FBI Investigates Trump

WASHINGTON ― Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) wants the Senate to delay a vote on President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick as long as Trump’s campaign remains under investigation by the FBI.

Democrats have struggled to come up with a cohesive strategy on how to handle the vote to confirm Neil Gorsuch, whom Trump picked in January to fill Justice Antonin Scalia’s vacant seat on the high court.

On Monday, FBI Director James Comey confirmed in his testimony to Congress that his agency is investigating ties between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

“There is a cloud now hanging over the head of the president, and while that’s happening, to have a lifetime appointment made by this president seems very unseemly and there ought to be a delay,” Schumer told reporters on Tuesday.

The only reason Gorsuch has a chance to win confirmation now is because Republicans refused to even hold a hearing for President Barack Obama’s nominee after Scalia died in February more than a year ago. Obama’s pick, Merrick Garland, went through all the motions of meeting senators, but Republicans refused to consider him because Obama was going to leave office in a little less than a year.

Is the FBI really investigating POTUS? As I watched James Comey deftly side-step most questions given to him...I was reminded how Comey laid out the case against Hillary Clinton step by step then said "I cannot find any intent...."

James Comey is far and away the worst sort of equivocator ever to lie under oath.

This is why the DIRFBI should never be a Washington Mr Fixit Beltway law firm lawyer!

/she should be someone appointed from the hardcore LEO world. It should never occur to him/her recommend to not indictment because it might mess up somebody’s political plans. If he/she has the goods he/she does the recommendation. The political calculus can be done by the AG and the AG’s administration makes the decision and lives with the consequences

That was my thought, “What investigation?”. This was about Russia’s involvement, as we now know it had nothing to do with Trump there is NO “Trump investigation”.

...Schumer now seems to be holding out for the possibility that Trump’s problems with the FBI could be so grave that he might have to leave office.....

Schumer and Obama have been sharing some mighty potent choom.
Emissaries from Betelgeuse will land in front of Schumer’s home first.

Hillary got Obama to launch investigations on Trump and his campaign using the Russia guise to try and get dirt on Trump and derail his winning campaign. That's how I see it... plain and simple.

Obama's people remain in the DOJ, FBI and throughout government, and are clinging onto this idiotic Russian connection to try and oust Trump. Congress isn't helping Trump one bit because they're mostly corrupt too. It's one big mess.

The world is full of ‘Sling Blade’ types and Shummer shows them mental capacity is not always a requirement for gainful employment.

How about we stop paying Schumer’s salary until he’s proven not to be a pedophile.

Trump needs to make an example out of one of these corrupt turds. I’m talking biblical proportions to let them know in no uncertain terms that we the people mean business. Mccain would be a good one to start with.
