Most of California is not desert. Fought this out once before here, maybe with you, I don’t know. Anyway much of the state is dry, but not desert. Very few people live in the desert areas.
Depends which part of California you are talking about. And the correct term is hot-semi-arid which southern CA is.
Dry is too broad a definition. About as broad as desert- like from my statement.
