Mexicans Flood Into Canada As 2017 Border Detentions Surpass All Of 2016
Zero Hedge ^ | 18 March 2017 | Tyler Durden

Posted on 03/20/2017 11:52:02 AM PDT by Lorianne

A couple of days ago we noted that Mexican immigrants were suddenly flooding into Canada to avoid deportation from the U.S. The increase in northern border crossings came, at least in part, courtesy of Canada's decision to lift visa requirements for Mexican 'tourists' as of December 1st. Per the new rules, rather than a visa, under Trudeau's administration, Mexicans are now only required to have a so-called Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) which can be purchased online for CAD $7.

Unfortunately, while Canada's relaxed travel requirements were applauded as an enlightened, progressive alternative to Trump's xenophobic, racist approach to immigration, under the surface, Canada's policies still function much like Trump's proposals. As Mexican immigrants are suddenly finding out, while Canada is happy to host 'tourists' from our Southern neighbor, getting a work visa can be nearly impossible and Mexicans with a criminal record are not welcome.

First Nations people vs. Mexicans vs. The French.

Who will be the biggest pain in the rear to Canada in 4 years?

They're actually a little tougher. But, to paraphrase the article's conclusion, if the illegals can't stay in Canada or the United States, there's always California.

Canada: Criticizing the USA for wanting to do what Canada already does.

I’m beginning to hate those smarmy snobby hypocrites.

How could Canada be so racist and xenophobic. Illegal aliens are the biggest builder of economies the universe has ever seen. Or so we’ve been told.

actually yes Mexico did own some of the dirt of Canada at one time ...

the bottom parts of 2 of the Canadian provinces were the top part of the Louisiana Purchase..

Owned by France, then Spain, then France again then sold to the US by Napoleon...

Sorry, but being Protestant, I don’t really respect the Papal claim to own the planet.

Spain’s claim is a direct result of the Treaty of Tordesillas in 1495, and later the Treaty of Zaragosa, both of them reliant on Papal authority.

They never owned a damn thing. As far as I’m concerned, Jefferson only paid France to avoid a war. After all, they did help us in the Revolution.

If Mexico would like to re-fight the war of 1846 I’m all for it. We need to make plain - again, 171 years later - that their claim to own everything from the South Pole to the North Pole is nonsense, and they’re just a bunch of low life thieves trying to take what they can’t make.

Article mentions ...”While Canada is happy to host ‘tourists’ from our Southern neighbor, ‘getting a work visa’ can be nearly impossible and Mexicans with a criminal record are not welcome.”.....

Looks like the usual “economic/welfare Mexicans and Muslims etc. will simply go from our welfare rolls to Canadas....otherwise work/jobs doesn't look good for the professional illegals going there to escape deportation?

Wait until they get a few million of them up there, all congregating in the same vicinity, and draining the local system there dry.

Once they see the nice area go from decent to barrio in short order, they may have half a clue what we deal with.

Currently they haven’t a clue whatsoever.....a few dozen a day crossing their border is nothing....

The problem isn’t illegals nor refugees....the problem is Politicians who have no concerns for it’s citizens and refuse to follow and enforce immigration laws.

The problem is both, but I get your point.

In a way you can understand why the illegal alien has done it, but it is the duty for our elected officials to enforce the law.

That anger me a lot. They don’t give a hoot about our nation(s).

....” it is the duty for our elected officials to enforce the law....That angers me a lot. They don’t give a hoot about our nation(s).”......

They don’t operate, for the most part, from a position of what’s good for it’s citizens. “Duty” is a word foreign to them just as the fact they are “servants” to the will of the people. Most believe their elected offices are positions of “power” over the people. Their job then is to win ‘political challenges’ that advance their lifestyles and retains their positions of power.

The people are called in for the “election show”.....but it didn’t work for them this election and why there is so much anger and fear they are going to ultimately loose all their comforts and stability. Worse that their corruption will be exposed.

This ‘war’ to regain our country is going to continue hot and heavy for quite some time....illegals are simply the cannon fodder being used...

I agree with your thoughts there.

Sadly, it is going to take a long time too.

It’s a dauntless task at this point.
