The thief who swiped a Secret Service agent’s laptop targeted the agent in question and knew exactly what he was after ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Our sources say the thief -- whom they say is a man -- was caught on surveillance video pulling up to the agent's driveway in an Uber at around 3 AM Thursday. The video shows the man make a beeline for the agent's car, removing a backpack with the computer inside and then walking off. As we reported, the hard drive contained Trump Tower floor plans and evacuation protocols, but the agency insists there was no classified info inside.

The thief also made off with a passport and several Secret Service lapel pins. It's unclear what the thief was looking for if all the content was non-sensitive. We're told the video is grainy so it's hard to make out the thief's features, but it's definitely a lead.

Exactly. It was a set up. I wondered why anything would be stolen from a nice car in a safe neighborhood like that. I have stupidly left valuables in plain view in my unlocked car but I am in such a safe neighborhood, opportunistic theives just dont come be very often.

Something is very wrong with this story. Why would they release what was on the computer....and in fact, why would they even say there was a computer stolen??

We know several of the Secret Service have already been relieved of their duties.

What I’m wondering is: the woman agent who was just let go from the Secret Service - did she request the laptop from an agent she knew would help her out ..???????

Don Bongino (former Secret Service), has been explaining that the Secret Service at the WH is not up to par.

If that’s true .. why is this being allowed. Did the Obama admin arrange to let go the best officers, and then hire other people who were more compliant; putting the safety of the President in jeopardy.

If that nightmare scenario is even close to being correct, this is more scary than I thought.

Most women can disguise themselves, simply by attire, to resemble a man. And, the female who was just released from the her Secret Service duty would have known who might be willing to leave their laptop for pickup.

AND .. WHO WOULD KNOW THE PERSON LIVING AT THAT ADDRESS WAS A MEMBER OF THE SECRET SERVICE ..?????? BUT ANOTHER AGENT.

I know that the living arrangements for Secret Service personnel is a very closely guarded secret .. except to other Secret Service people.

Nothing makes sense about this story. Why would such a sensitive case of government property being stolen be released to the public, along with information as to what is in the laptop? Who would even blab to the reporters: “Dear god no, the Hilary investigation files are in that laptop!!!” Certainly not an SS agent.

I have been wondering if this story is fabricated from whole cloth. If such a thing happened in a Tom Clancy book, it would be too lame and far fetched to be taken seriously.

Dan Bongino said over the weekend that a Secret Service laptop has a lot of security so it would be difficult if not impossible to access. He gave the impression that it could probably even be traced and even accessed by another SS computer.

That said, if this is an inside job, the access protocol was probably provided.

I am wondering if this is foreshadowing of an assassination attempt where the information on the laptop, and the Secret Service pins will be used as cover for the deep-state black ops team.

I really don't trust my government at the moment, especially the way they are handling things like leaks and white house security.

I doubt this laptop was really stolen, but just a flase flag to make this laptop and all the contents on the hard drive to “go away” since it contains info on Hillary’s investigation. Conveniently for the Deep State, no backups of the hard drive were made.... I am speculating on the last point but won’t be surprised if I am correct.
