FWIW DoughtyOne; I don’t believe, even for a minute, the USA would allow California to secede. It’s just too valuable geographically and would leave a huge gaping hole in our defense. It will NEVER happen.

On the other hand; I’m very sorry to say I left the Golden State 17 years ago because it had gotten so bad both politically and due to the invasion from the South which the left was only too happy to help happen.

Politically, for the right, the state is lost and short of all illegals leaving the state there’s simply no path forward for it to ever recover from its socialist/communist/leftist direction. Washington and Oregon are not far behind but unlike CA it’s mostly due to the infestation of leftist libs in the high density populated cities. As usual, even in CA (away from the farm areas) once away from the cities the population is far more conservative but sadly outnumbered. I fear the same thing happening here in AZ. This last election taught us we are not the conservative bastion we once were.

I think you make a mistake by taking this issue personally just because you currently live in CA. If it hadn’t changed like it did I would probably still live there as well. It truly is a beautiful state and the Southern half has really great weather. The North is fine too but with lots more cold and snow. Maybe that’s why there are so many more conservatives in the North. They have to be made of tougher stock to take the harsher weather. Of course that doesn’t explain IL other than they simply had no choice from birth if they wanted to stay in their birth state. I’m sure once away from Chicago things get better there too.

Cheers and Regards mate!

You’ve been drinking again. He actually sold your double wide for a couple of tacos.

He had a double wide? Dayum! I'm envious. Sigh; I have to settle for a little single wide w/addons on a half acre with incredible views and a great location but no double wide.

Thanks boomer. I appreciate the lengthy post and understand what you are addressing.

There are some areas that are better than you might think.

Hispanics care about law and order. They love their children and are sick of seeing them gunned own or live in fear of gangs they simply can’t avoid.

They want a good education for them, and not to have to deal with gangs at school.

They are sick of being here a few years, developing a foot hold, and having illegal immigrants come and replace them, leaving them jobless.

I believe that there are wedge issues that can be used to sway folks who we might not think could be swayed.

I don’t think Blacks are happy with things the way they are. They want a better life. They don’t want to have to put up with the gangs either.

They instinctively know that black gangs are why businesses avoid start-ups in their area.

We’ve got a good guy in Trump, because he’s like a stern uncle. He’s not afraid to tell it like it is.

I know he wants to make live better in the inner city. I think he can do it. I think it will matter.

If I were his adviser, I’d tell him to come to California once a quarter for the next four years. Make three stops each time. Invite people from the community to join you at some of them. Ask questions and listen. Go on the record here telling folks you’ll make their communities better, then follow through.

Band together with religious leaders. Band together with Black business leaders. Bring in some investors.

People are watching.

We’ve bitten off for two long on the idea we can’t compete.

We can. I believe Conservatism, explained well, can be more appealing than Leftist dogma.

I believe that all many blacks want is a job and a hand up/out, of the bad situation they find themselves in.

If Trump found a few key men in California and made a strong outreach here, I think he could not only pull the state back from the brink, but possibly bring it back to being competitive in 2020.

I don’t pick fault with what you stated. I understand where you are coming from, and think there were good reasons behind it what you stated.

Thanks again for the nice note.

The deal is that we sell California to Mexico, right?
How much do we have to pay them?

BOL!

Best humor I have ever seen from NB!

I live in Californicator land.

We all need good humor from our fellow freepers and a sense of humor to accept it.

That doesn’t mean that vicious fake news attacks on Trump are accepted. This is funny and probably true in that Mexico would not take back LaRaz La or Gay Frisco/San Jose!

Thanks NB!

You bring up a good point I hadn’t thought of. There’s no way long time Californians with Hispanic heritage would ever want to live under the Mexican government. They would fight any kind of deal (yes it’s satire) with Mexico too.

The biggest problem CA has that simply cannot be fixed is the abnormal amount of Hispanics that flooded the state for decades. There’s simply no way to roll back the clock.

Now, if our feckless and weak congress had fixed the anchor baby loophole decades ago then yes, it could be fixed through deportation.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea; I’m not against Hispanics at all. Heck, my sister married one, my nephew has Hispanic blood and is a good kid, and my own mother is from Sicily. I think many, maybe even most, just want to live honestly and normally without any trouble. Nope, like most Americans, I’m against illegal immigration and all the problems it causes. Not all the causes look nefarious from the outside like 10 illegal Hispanic’s living in a 2 bedroom apartment. They nest right in there and make it work somehow but look at what it does to the neighborhood when you have 100, 200, or even 500 such families living in it! Gangs thrive in that environment. Heck; a big problem with the environment is over population and here are people popping out babies like they can afford them, which they can’t so they get on food stamps which adds up to a lot of money and other welfare assistant programs, like near free housing and utilities. Beans, rice, and tortillas don’t cost a lot so they figure out a way to turn that food stamp card into spendable cash which is pretty darn easy really.

Most folks understand the desire to make a better life but doing it illegally by stealing their way here then taking advantage of programs meant for Americans as a temporary hand up and not a generational hand out is not the way to do it. We simply can’t afford it.

We really need to fix the anchor baby loophole.

“Californians support this forum folks.”

Correctamundo, DO. When you look at the FR donor list, CA is putting in more money than any other state, and furthermore, FR is headquartered in Fresno, CA. And yet we have these ingrates who are here bashing California and I will bet you that most of them have never even set foot in our state. So it’s laughable that these people prattle on about doing away with CA when that would take away their place to prattle. This game of which state is the best candidate to “throw to the lions” is a childish and immature response to serious issues.

Nothing to address ... you are EXACTLY the person I was talking about. Thinks he’s conservative and is not. Hell you probably believe that illegals should stay because they haven’t broken any laws. You live in “Gold Country and are NOT a clamper ... THAT makes you suspect ... what’s the matter you too good for ECV or has no clamper found you worthy ... I suspect the later. Questions my affiliation with the clampers when I’m a past chapter president. No sir you are not what you say you are. You may think you are but just like some (not all) other indoctrinated brainwashed “conservative” Californians ... you are not. I don’t think you would know a true conservative if one bit you. OH and BTW I AM a 4th generation born and raised Californian ... I just escaped from the Peoples Republic some years ago ... and thank the lord I did.

The problem we are now faced with, is we have to deal with tens of millions of people who gamed the system, and thought if they could get away with it long enough, it would be forgiven.

I married a wonderful Hispanic woman. I loved her whole family.

During some family get-togethers, the subject of illegal immigration came up, and they had about the same take on it as U. S. Citizens do. Of course they were citizens, but I mean to say they didn’t see it differently. My dynamics seemed to be echoed in theirs.

There may have been one or two illegals in the not too distant family tree, but that wasn’t something I focused on. They addressed things in realistic terms knowing that.

IMO, that’s the way a lot of the Hispanic citizens see thing.

They and their family almost all came legally. They get a bit testy when others try to come here without going through the process.

One thing they touched on, were the illegal aliens that threatened their jobs because they had no responsibilities yet. They could work for next to nothing shacking up with friends or family, undercutting citizens.

You’re right to point out the form of support the FReepathon represents. My emphasis had been on the idea of the forum, the principles we share, and the gathering hole dynamic that exist here.

It’s a concept that Californian’s support in every aspect. As you pointed out, we provide financial substance to back that up too.

Saying that, I had some things come up last quarter and couldn’t contribute. I’ll make up for it. I have two $1200 dollar years, and I hope to be back to doing that in the not too distant future.

At any rate, thanks vette6387. I appreciate it.

No hispanic relatives yet.

However, some long term friends and great people, who enable us to stay in our home with their skills and hard work.

We proudly recommend these good people to good friends and have helped some to become citizens. They resent the illegals and don’t want them here in their neighborhoods and schools.

As far as Kiddy games ... I'm deadly serious. The topic was that many Californians come into Arizona boasting that they are "conservative". When queried it becomes very obvious that they only think they are. Maybe to some Masshole from Boston they might be considered "conservative" BUT compared to us Zonies they are still very liberal.

Point two ... joining the military does not automatically make that person patriotic. Just ask Major Hassan. Ever hear of infiltrators. muslims who are not violent for the moment support those who are ... its their religion.

Point three ... yes there are a GREAT many TRUE conservatives in Calif. Many are my friends. I used to give speeches for the Contra Costa county Tea Party when I lived there some years back. As far as Gold Country ... Clampers are the gold miners from the gold rush. Sacramento was the financial capital during it (that and SF). James Marshall Sam Brannon and Sutter all lived in Sacramento. All along hiway 49 is Gold Country. From Coloma to Sonora and more is Gold country. When I came up to speak with your militia last summer members were from Sacramento to Lincoln to Ione to Coloma to Placerville. WE found them to be VERY liberal in their thinking and NOT a group we would want to be associated with. Finally, this thread was support to be satire and taken jokingly ... but a few Californians with thin skins got their panties in a twist. So ... if you don't want to be the butt of jokes change your state politics. It's not our fault that your state is a political basket case. All we can do is do our best to keep California politics out of our state. We here in Arizona get lots of flak about McLame and Flake and we deserve. But I for one don't go around whining about it.

You are as fake as they come.

Went all the way through school here in the Sierras and
graduated HS in a class with 150 males. Know how many
ever became clampers? ZERO, pal. The bulk of your local
membership comes from elsewhere. When I was logging and
later gold mining sometimes clampers would come to town
in their red shirts, black hats, and vests. They couldn’t
hold their alcohol and would try raunchy out on the local
women in the bars. If the women didnt slap the dog out
them, the loggers would pop them in the nose and watch
those top hats fly off their heads. Remember those days?
Maybe we have met. Sorry about your busted lip or black
eye.

But, what you are really phony about is that you
are all bad ass about ALL mussies in America except
you can’t address the KIA US Army soldier because it
blows up your little narrative. Got your ass in a corner,
don’t you?

You have absolutely zilch when it comes to the
authority to designate where others fit on the
conservative continuum. But then, if you just
happen to lean toward the KKK way of thinking
then you ain’t listening to anybody else, anyway.
Nobody worth two dead flies will follow your
lead. You just make an ass out of yourself when
you pull that stuff. If you want to do something
positive then get more AZ FReepers to donate money
to the FR cause.

We appreciate humor and satire, too. We don’t mind
that California is the butt of jokes. We hate our
state leadership too. However, when some posters cross
the line and point the finger at all of us then there
is a chance some of us will push back.

Now you state...”there are a GREAT many TRUE conservatives
in Calif”....That is true, a positive direction. Had you
added that to your earlier critique of the state’s
conservatives then perhaps we would not be where we are
currently. And, further, the criticisms you earlier
applied to those Californians who claim to be conservative
also apply to tons of Arizonans and millions of others
across the land. You think none of them voted for Trump?
