A huge part of the problem with ED is that the state (actually corrupt developers) comes in and offers a pittance to the owners in exchange for land that is going to become very, very valuable. They did this to people in Asbury Park, NJ but Long Branch fought it off. That is called stealing. At least Trump offered that woman in AC a million or two to take her home.

Everything liberals touch turn to ruin. So an unconstitutional decision tortured by the SCOTUS liberals to get their desired outcome ends badly. What else would you expect.

The Founders knew what worked and worked well. The further we get from their intent, the worse things work for people, for the states, and for the nation.

The commie Lib RATS can’t see this fact, which is why everything they want leads to socialist totalitarian tyranny.

The culture war is real and the stakes are very high.

I remember it. The City of New London wanted to have Pfizer put a research campus and the headquarters to the Fort Trumbull area. The area was an older part of town, but thriving, but New London wanted Pfizer. Nelson didn’t move and she fight, but the USSC decided to go against the Constitution guaranteeing your right to keep your property.

Kelo v. City of New London

The evil commie scum

John Paul Stevens
Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Steven Breyer
David Souter
and
Anthony Kennedy

The sane

William Rehnquist
Antonin Scalia
Clarence Thomas
Sandra Day O’Connor

In a just world, Kennedy upholds the Constitution, but no, he sold out. The bastard.

Now imagine if Donald Trump hasn’t one the presidency and Hilary Clinton picked the next 2 or 3 supreme court justices. For this reason alone, President Trump’s victory was crucial, all important and a divine gift.

Wow, looks like a very cool airport. No argument with anything you’re saying...hopefully Trump’s Supreme Court does away with Kelo, puts an end to seizure of private land for non-critical reasons, and also makes it EASIER to seize land for critical reasons (as in highways, pipelines, and Border Walls...but not high-speed trains, since those are boondoggles).

Do a search on “Vera Coking” if you want to find out about Trump’s position on eminent domain abuse.

That ruling was a travesty.

Trump's support of Kelo and his belief in private taking under eminent domain is well documented.

There’s a yuge difference between the Kelo decision, where the city expropriated homes for a COMMERCIAL developement, and the purchasing of land for PUBLIC WORKS.

I’m perfectly familiar with Trump’s position on eminent domain. But it still doesn’t mean that Hillary would have been a better president.

“Wrong on eminent domain and likely to remain so” does not mean “worse than Hillary”.
