Paris climate treaty dead

While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will never admit it, the 2015 Paris climate treaty Canada signed with great fanfare died last week.

It died because of the release of U.S. President Donald Trump’s 2018 budget plan.

While Trump has to get it through the U.S. Congress, which means parts of it are unlikely to survive, his clear intention to gut U.S. climate change policy by dismantling the Environmental Protection Agency spells the death knell for the Paris treaty.

Trump is proposing deeper cuts to the EPA than any other government agency, reducing its $8.2 billion budget by 31%, laying off 19% of its 15,000 staff and cutting 50 programs.

That includes funding for Barack Obama’s signature climate change initiative, his Climate Action Plan, to reduce America’s use of coal-fired electricity.

Trump’s budget director, Mick Mulvaney, made the president’s intention crystal clear Thursday.

“Regarding the question of climate change ... We’re not spending money on that anymore,” Mulvaney said. “We consider that to be a waste of your money ... ”

The shister Obama really screwed his cultish ‘believers.’ He did a bunch of underhanded in the moment negative moves for the United States’ future . . . YET! Since none of it (except the golden calf—Obamacare) made it through the house and Senate, most of it is easily erased (except the burrowing for mold and toxins he tried to implant administratively and otherwise where he could to undermine our present president. He scams even his followers to get approval and accolades in the moment (like all narcissists.) instead (and thank GOD he did not—except for Obamacare) his efforts are generally quickly corrected. Thank you President Trump. Now we just have to get those career politician RINOS to move on helping him.

For those of you learning about the constitution during the Obama years, here’s a primer. Treaties including Iran and various “climate control” agreements have to be approved by the senate. When you hear in the media that Obama is carrying out the treat with Iran and you realize Mitch mcConnell has his thumb up his ass, that means we really don’t have a constitutional treaty. All Trump has to do is nothing. Let McBonnell be McConnell an ignore the “treaties.” He should announce his intention to do so. Then some 9th circuit judge will order it enforced because Obama agreed to it.

The article is wrong. The Clinton administration did sign the Kyoto treaty, but the Senate never ratified it therefore under the Constitution it has never been binding on the United States.

Paris is in exactly the same position, but Obama and the media governed by the pen, not the Constitution, and both have been pretending it is binding. It is not and never was.

Its like what Churchill said when told that his Mother-in-Law had died.

After a pause, he said: Embalm her. Cremate her, and bury her at sea. Take no chances.

These treaties were never ratified. Which means they mean absolutely nothing as far as the US is concerned.

I get it that the budget makes it effectively dead, but l’d like it better if Trump would either announce he’s pulling out of it or send it to congress where it will be truly dead via a vote.

Justin HAS been hanging out a lot with ‘Donald Junior,’ AKA Ivanka...our FUTURE President. ;)

She took him to a Broadway Show (or something) this past week.
Maybe she’s rubbing off on him?

I did a quick review pf those sites listed. Anyway.

Wonder how much of this would really matter, if some astronomer proved that in 250 years, give or take 50, the earth would be hit with a rock from space that caused an extinction event?

Really, when randomness and uncertainty are considered together it appears both, human extinction events, are equally applicable.

You know, like maybe, we should be ‘busting a hump’ to get off the rock.
