WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Trump administration wants to build a 30-foot-high border wall that looks good from the north side and is difficult to climb or cut through, according to a pair of contract notices posted to a government website further detailing President Donald Trump's promise to build a "big, beautiful wall" at the Mexican border.
The notices were made public late Friday by Customs and Border Protection, the Homeland Security Department agency that will oversee the project and eventually patrol and maintain the wall. The proposals are due to the government by March 29.
One of the CBP contract requests calls for a solid concrete wall, while the other asks for proposals for a see-through structure. Both require the wall to sunk at least six feet into the ground and include 25- and 50-foot automated gates for pedestrians and vehicles. The proposed wall must also be built in a such a way that it would take at least an hour to cut through it with a "sledgehammer, car jack, pick axe, chisel, battery operated impact tools, battery operated cutting tools, Oxy/acetylene torch or other similar hand-held tools."
The government will award a contract based on 30-foot-wide sample walls that are to be built in San Diego.

And the next liberal Admin elected would come along and reverse it all. What they wouldn’t do is tear a wall down. Unless they wanted to spark a revolution. All your suggestions could be reversed. A permanent wall, not so much.

He advocated for all of those policies in his big immigration speech during the campaign. Many of them would be implemented in the next budget, or by Department Secretaries (HHS, Agriculture, Education), when their staff comes on board over the next few months.
Maybe that is why the Left is starting to target the new HHS Secretary Tom Price.

Actually the outline requirements I posted exceed that wall in your picture which does not appear to be 30 foot tall.
Just do what the Israelis did. Nothing more nothing less. Probably have to construct it with a fence protecting it from the Mexican side so they can’t just drive right up to it. In fact, give the contract to the Israelis.

Better idea. Two walls 20 ft apart, Cement drive on top. Wall full of rats imported and fed from NYC sewers. Feed chutes to the rats fed with dead animals from a rendering service so they get used to eating meat.
If someone is dumb enough to break through the side the rats would spill out on the Mexican side.
They should top the wall with lots of razor sharp concertina wire, and make sure it's deep enough to prevent tunneling. I'm sure there is technology available to detect tunneling, so vehicles equipped with those detectors would patrol the wall. Blow up any tunnels found.

You want to give the contract to a foreign country? You probably missed it, but Trump and the American people voted for putting America and Americans first, for the first time in decades. Ya better get used to it.
Great point...I keep forgetting about drones. Probably much cheaper overall, and even more effective.
