I worked for a Fortune 500 Company for over 30 Years, 20 of those Years in different Management roles.

Every time we got a new Department Head (EVP / SVP), we had to “re-interview” for our Job Positions.

You either stayed where you were, moved to another Position within the Department, looked outside our Department for a new Position or took your Severance Package and moved on with your Life.

There was never a day I went to work thinking my Job was a lock. Not because of the Company culture, but because my Father told me at a very young age that Nobody owes you a living.

Nobody owes you a living.

You have not understood the term "sense of entitlement" until you have met a poor performing federal employee.

I look back at two of the worst employees I had ever worked with, and they were both inter-agencies transfers, they came to my agency from another federal department. In hind-sight, the other dept. was pretty slick in getting rid of them, yet they were still on the rolls.
